All of these “good” Republicans keep failing a basic threshold test of leadership. @GlennYoungkin & @RonDeSantisFL haven’t read indictments. Reacting like this is bad citizenship but also bad politics. Makes you smaller & reduces any possible impact once you have read indictment.

It is beyond belief that District Attorney Alvin Bragg has indicted a former President and current presidential candidate for pure political gain. Arresting a presidential candidate on a manufactured basis should not happen in America.

@INVR_Team @lionel_trolling From the “legal theories” to the antisemitism, it’s all in service of maintaining/strengthening their status as the in-group. Not bound by law but protected from it. Wilhoit had these fuckers pegged.

Her stepdad had beat her. Called her horrible, homophobic things. She ended up getting sent to live with her aunt. Safeguarding requires listening to the child about their own safety. I'll never forget that child. I'll always wonder how she's doing.

Regular reminder that it's just insane that one pissant federal district judge can purport to enjoin enforcement of a federal law or administrative action nationwide, and it's not really clear why the other branches should acquiesce in this exercise of power.

Important to remember the Sullivan plaintiffs (in NYT v Sullivan) were segregationists who wanted to crush coverage of civil rights through libel suits. These were not people acting in good faith.

1. Josh Hawley, of Missouri, has demonstrated that he’s one of the most dangerous men in the United States Senate. He took to the floor Tuesday, the day after a shooting massacre in Nashville that left three 9-year-olds and three adults shot to pieces.

8. Fact is, the massacre of believers is committed by white men, almost totally, according to a new study of 58 religious massacres over 10 years by the International Commission to Combat Religious Racism.

Like @owillis points out, if you take out the one word in Tucker Carlson’s diatribes that situates them in a present-day politics, it’s pretty easy to see this is rhetoric aimed at whipping up violence. You could drop this language anywhere in history and instantly recognize it
