Joint Statement: Apple and Google have entered into a multi-year collaboration under which the next generation of Apple Foundation Models will be based on Google's Gemini models and cloud technology. These models will help power future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized Siri coming this year. After careful evaluation, Apple determined that Google's Al technology provides the most capable foundation for Apple Foundation Models and is excited about the innovative new experiences it will unlock for Apple users. Apple Intelligence will continue to run on Apple devices and Private Cloud Compute, while maintaining Apple's industry-leading privacy standards.

@charlesfitz @ckindel This is unfortunately a worse knock-off of Aero Glass. It makes using things super-confusing (Control Center is the worst). I predict this will get dialed back or changed before release. Or it will be a disaster.

One of my favorite projects in a while! I found this brand new, never-installed, still in the box payphone. It's a Nortel Millennium Digital, common in the 90s and 00s. The first problem is that it needs to connect to the phone company for rates and tables, etc, so I had to burn a custom EPROM with that code nop'd out so that it just operates like an old school payphone. Then I blew it up, and had to replace an axial fuse on the power supply unit, but that's a story for another day - suffice to say, it's fixed! It's 10 cents a call, and still requires a coin!
