Well, let's start with nothing in any of these comments is a parable. But, if you are referring to the foreskin thing here is what you need to know. In 1 Samuel 18, King Saul demanded a bride price of 100 Philistine foreskins from David to marry his daughter Michal, intending for David to be killed by the Philistines during the attempt. Instead, David and his men killed 200 Philistines and brought back their foreskins, exceeding the requirement and forcing Saul to honor the marriage contract. This unusual bride price served multiple purposes: Political Trap: Saul disguised his jealousy as a request for national revenge, hoping the dangerous mission would result in David's death. Covenant Symbolism: Collecting foreskins highlighted the distinction between the covenant people of Israel and the "uncircumcised" Philistines, while also serving as verifiable proof of victory. Historical Context: While ancient Near Eastern customs typically involved material dowries, this demand was a lethal test of military prowess rather than an economic exchange. David’s success in fulfilling this demand solidified his status as a national hero and son-in-law to the king, further intensifying Saul’s fear and envy, which persisted until Saul’s death.

My best advice for kids wanting to college today is NOT to go to college. Go to trade school!! Why?? Becaause they'll be stuck paying student loan debt while AI is steadlily taking their jobs. Yeah, you can hate me today, but you'll see that I'm absolutely right in time.

@AuntHat_47 @SDSLLC_USA The bible also talks about a dude buying a bride with Philistine foreskins. Should we start telling kids to do that too?

Actually, in biblical days learning a trade was a requirement for every male. Paul, who may have been the most educated man of his time was also a tentmaker. This way of looking at life certainly makes a lot more sense than the way we have been doing it. My dad, fortunately, could do many things in the area of repairs and carpentry, laying flooring. He did not go to trade school. He learned these things as a part of his life. He was a far more valuable man than my ex-husband, a university professor, who couldn't do anything that a man should be able to do, and do it well. If I had my life to live over again, a man with practical skills would be a requirement.

You can’t afford lunch because you demanded the guy who makes your burrito and your door dash driver should be paid $30/hr and get free healthcare.

Mark, you are standing next to the guy who gutted Medicaid, the ACA, and put a conspiracy theorist in charge of HHS. I can’t think of any one person who’s done more to destroy healthcare access, and yet there you were with him.

@AudibleStorm @Ukrwarviewing @F0UNDINGST0CK You all would’ve scrolled past if her kid was white, racists are taking the opportunity to trash her in spite of the fact that she made it. Being happy they’re successful in spite of the odds isn’t promoting single motherhood, as if that’s something little girls aspire to.

@ryanbleess1 @Ukrwarviewing @F0UNDINGST0CK No. Because, again, the overwhelming majority of kids born to single mothers do not have a positive life outcome. You should nut be promoting behavior that leads to overwhelmingly bad results, because it turns out well sometimes.

@ryanbleess1 @F0UNDINGST0CK Nice strawman. Single motherhood is, by and large, a huge net negative on society. Morons will point to this one example where the kid managed to meet societal expectations to whitewash the other 80% who end up, at best, contributing nothing. But you already knew this.

Living like Boomers did in their early 20s won't get you what Boomers were able to get in their early 20s. Flat out. You're not getting a down payment for a home by packing a lunch. Min wage in 1968 was equal to 1.8 oz of gold. That's $200/hr in todays $.

You can't complain about boomers having it easier in their early 20s if you aren't willing to live like the boomers did when they were in their early 20s

@TheEzMackGaming Most generations lived in small houses and drove beater cars when they were young. If you lived in a 900sq ft house in a rural area with a $500 dollar car, no Internet, no mobile phone, you would be fine. You don't have the stomach for that level of existence.

@ryanbleess1 It's a poorly written law with no ceiling. It will hurt small businesses the most. They are 99% of Oklahoma's businesses with over 50% of the workforce. It will cost jobs & businesses and cause inflation.

Two states neighboring Oklahoma have a $15/hr minimum wage. Missouri, which is fixed without increases and a cost of living 10% higher. Colorado, which varies by city and a 45% higher cost of living. Vote NO on SQ 832!

@FuzzyStonks @Cernovich They didn’t make $1.50/hr for their entire mortgage term and I’m in the age group that was able to get in before prices exploded. Difference is I’m not afraid to admit that kids are fucked now and I’m sick of the generation that had it all whining about having to pay their taxes
