Another year, another failing report card for Connecticut.
❌ Cost of Living: D
❌ Economy: D+
❌ Cost of Doing Business: D+
❌ Workforce: C-
These aren’t new grades. CNBC has ranked Connecticut one of the most expensive states to live and do business in for years. This is what happens under one-party Democrat rule.
CT Senate Republicans have proposed real solutions to cut electric bills, eliminate the Public Benefits Charge, lower taxes and make Connecticut affordable. Democrats keep voting “no.”

English

One of the several pernicious hidden taxes in our electricity bills is the RGGI, whose cost is nearly doubling from $80 to $140 million this year under Gov. Lamont.
This could be cut to ZERO this year if the governor wanted to reduce electricity bills, but he doesn’t. When I am governor, I’ll end that tax and every other one embedded in your bill making our state unaffordable.

Physicians also face the highest licensing fees in Connecticut of any state in the country—they’re charged about $600 per year just for the right to work on top of all their other taxes! We should be rolling out the red carpet for skilled professionals—not charging them for existing!
I wrote legislation to pass it, but the Lamont admin didn’t support it.

@ryanfazio @eatprotein AND New England has the lowest physician salaries in the nation. Where is the money going?

If after eight years, health care is more expensive in Connecticut than all but four other states in the country, why does this governor need four more years in office? This administration has completely failed and four more years will only make it worse.
We can make health care affordable by giving patients more choice through association health plans and making health care more competitive by cutting red tape like CON laws. Time for change.

The biggest issues facing our state require leadership with a clear vision for making Connecticut more affordable and prosperous for its families & businesses. That’s what I’ll deliver as your governor.

It is a failure of epic proportions that 40% of CT residents now say they are considering moving away, more than any of our neighboring states. CT is a beautiful place with strong communities and good people. Yet after eight years of Gov. Lamont, the state has become so unaffordable to our families that nearly half are considering leaving. This is not the best we can do. This does not scream “four more years.” Our state cannot afford another term of Lamont’s tax and utility bill hikes. CT can flourish and ensure affordability with lower taxes, lower electricity bills, and a positive change.

NO MORE RATE HIKES: Connecticut families are bracing for the increase in utility costs that come with the summer heat. They cannot afford another double digit rate increase to their electricity bills, but that’s what they’re getting under Gov. Lamont.
I stood with state, local, and business leaders today, along with concerned residents, at Dasco Welded Products in Waterbury to call for relief from the energy costs burdening Connecticut families and industries, already the second highest in the nation.
Meanwhile, the governor is releasing ads claiming he’ll “hold the utilities accountable” if given another four years to do the job he’s failed at for eight years already.
Connecticut families deserve leadership that will cut electricity bills, allowing them to stay in their homes, just like businesses should continue to grow their workforce and boost our state’s economy.

English

RESTORING TRUST IN GOVERNMENT: During the Lamont administration there have been over 20 criminal charges against senior Democratic officials, at least seven officials arrested, and millions of dollars stolen from the taxpayers.
I’ve proposed common sense reforms that this governor has rejected. As governor, I’ll get them done and end the culture of corruption in state government.
English

These dangerous encounters are becoming increasingly likely because of the CT state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection’s insanely restrictive policies on the rising bear populations. Kids and seniors have been attacked and someone is going to get killed if Gov. Lamont and DEEP don’t alter their ridiculously unsafe policies that even blue states like ME, NJ, NY, and CA reject.

What a good boy! A family's husky in Connecticut stepped in to save a child after a bear charged across their lawn. The owner said he would reward the protective dog with a T-bone steak. abcnews.visitlink.me/YrLK6A

@ADP_Nuff_Said Yessir, I have promised to end the RGGI tax repeatedly on the trail. Marc’s article here is an excellent description!

Three days after the July 4th storms that devastated parts of Connecticut, thousands are still without power. It took two days for Eversource to deliver sufficient crews to bring power back to our towns and three days for the to governor to even visit affected towns.
We can do better. Our residents deserve accountability from the utilities and state government.
