I know that the VTA light rail bus bridges are annoying, but the point of them is to keep the system in a state of good repair and running smoothly, which is good. There are also a lot of big events in 2026, so it's important to do the work now.

@SFBART Looks like this change makes the Blue->Orange line transfer for SF->Berryessa totally worthless. And in the evening when the green line isn’t running the transfer is 14 minutes at Bay Fair?! Am I missing something?

Even spacing on Orange and Green lines: Riders on the Berryessa line will experience better train spacing than ever before. The Green and Orange line will still run every 20 minutes, but trains serving the Berryessa line will now be evenly spaced 10 minutes apart.

@DavidZipper While riding my bike, I got hit by a car. The driver said she couldn’t see me over the hood of her large SUV. Her insurance had to pay me thousands of dollars for my bike being crushed, Dr’s appointments, missed work, etc. If she had a sedan with a low hood she might’ve seen me.

@eean @_fruchtose It *might* make it harder to buy. In the Bay Area they’re legal in cities like Pacifica, so I imagine a lot of the illegal fireworks are bought legally and then set off in cities where it’s illegal.

Possibly a hot take: I think fireworks should be banned for personal use in California. They're a nuisance in cities and a wildfire risk elsewhere.

@marcus_ismael That makes sense if the buses run frequently and they also can avoid bunching. But when the bus runs only every 15-30 minutes and you have to look at the schedule, I really don't want the bus leaving early.

@thecliffbar @KhyberSen @intesar_alam_ny Heat Restrictions will impact EMUs just the same as diesels. It's about track integrity, and EMUs are not lighter. It's a Federal mandate. There were other issues yesterday that compounded the delays.

We are currently under a Level 2 heat restriction, which requires the slowing of trains. There are signal issues, as well. Expect delays.
