Day 1 at @CTOCraft @pingles’s warns us of the danger of “best practice” and advises a shift towards thinking about your specific problems and how to respond. Look at the number of deploys per month 👌

A theme from the 1st day at @CTOCraft conf. If you don’t create a strategy for your eng org…one of your exec peers will. Map your engineering strategy tightly to both product and business strategy. Collaborate. Don’t create one alone.

@bajicdusko Accelerating the tuckman stages is critical for high performance Extending periods of time together preferably face to face is essential to work through differences and align on what’s “right” in the particular context. How do you accelerate?

@tastapod Great build. I love the “what do you wish to learn?” framing. Putting that one in the back pocket 🙂🙏

Strategy means many things to many people. When someone asks for an engineering strategy don’t be afraid to ask “what do you wish to see?” Your strategy could be amazing but will likely miss the mark if the recipient was expecting something else.

Monolith “good/bad” Microservices “bad/good” Unhelpful categorisations. Both have pros/cons. What’s going to work in your context (and over what time horizon?) Our industry loves extremes and the pendulum continues to swing.
Martin Fowler@martinfowler

I'm enjoying a vacation, so haven't spent time to do more than scan the recent Prime Video microservices to monolith story. But this analysis from @adrianco looks solid. adrianco.medium.com/so-many-bad-ta…
