@realLatifLove Great read. Thanks for sharing. He's definitely one of the better smaller guards in this class.
Do you think there's a team gutsy enough to take him in the lottery?

Ebuka Okorie was one of the most productive freshmen in the country this season, and yet he's continued to be overlooked, underdiscussed, and underrated in mainstream draft spaces.
In my latest Substack piece, I deliver 2500+ words on why he’s earned his place at the NBA Draft point guard round table.

@SleeperHornets @Yaxel_Lendeborg I don't see Yaxel getting past the Bucks and especially the Warriors - so #10 seems right for him.
Mara on the other hand would need a move up into the top 8 and even then I could see him going anywhere in that 6-9 range.
English

Realistically the Hornets are likely going to have to trade at LEAST to #10 to get one of Yaxel Lendeborg or Aday Mara.
The question is, how much does the front office value those two because it’s going to come at a price.

@LeGoatedOne The WORLD is taking over.
I'm not sure if its the AAU circuit or the USA's culture around basketball, but it seems countries outside the USA have been able to develop more complete players.
English

I love Boozer in Utah where he can continue his father's legacy all while creating his own.
He is also exactly the type of forward that the Grizzlies and Bulls could both use.
BOTTOM LINE: There is no way Boozer drops outside of the top 4. 0% chance.
Boozer may not be the liudest prospect in the class - but he might be the safest top pick that guarantees NBA success.
English

@CREAMYCOLE I'm a big fan of Okorie and lower on Acuff than most exactly for this reason.
I just cannot see Acuff contributing to winning basketball if he continues with the level of defensive effort he showed at Arkansas.
English

Ebuka isn’t a negative on defense on the eye test, analytically, or otherwise. Acuff is
Left - Ebuka Okorie
Right - Darius Acuff

Dallas Mavs Family 🇫🇷@TwoWayAJD
@CREAMYCOLE Actuff and Him are negative in defense!
English

I get that. I made a comment on a different post yesterday saying he's on GOAT trajectory, which he is.
Not including the Wemby draft, if we take the last 5 top picks that would get:
Flagg
Sarr (I had him over Risacher anyway that draft) Banchero
Cade
ANT
That's a pretty awesome starting 5 to build around.
English

@ryanknowsballl @AndrewLeezus Wemby has the chance to be the greatest ever. U aint gone find that in prob next 20 drafts. 7’5 and moves like a guard, str8 up generational. Ngl wemby gotta b the pick
English

@EnjoyBBall Any lights out shooter. So Curry probably takes the cake. But I love watching random role guy shooters get hot.
A.J. Green, Jamison Battle in the first round, Duncan Robinson, etc. etc.
English

@overthinkingNBA It really depends.
Do you see Dybantsa as a ball stopper on the offensive end or someone who can elevate and become a playmaker?
Seen the Tmac comp before though and it does make sense.
English

AJ Dybantsa has been oft compared to Tracy McGrady. The physical tools, shotmaking, and athleticism are a close match but there’s one other interesting tidbit about this comp.
T-Mac developed into a viable 3-point shooter for a few years but had a career 3PAr of about 20.7%.
The ball often stopped moving when it got into McGrady’s hands. His best season came in 2002-03 when he averaged 32.1 ppg but 64.6% of his field goals and 68.3% of his 2-point attempts were unassisted.
76% of Dybantsa’s buckets at BYU were unassisted and the Cougars ranked 335th in the nation in assist rate as a team.
McGrady famously never made it past the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
It begs the question — can you win an NBA title with Dybantsa’s shot diet and play style?

English

@NBA_NewYork Probably just trying to be a good sportsman... but that's not the kind of message you want to be sending to your team.
Crazy comebacks have happened and ANT showed here that he didn't believe in his team.
English

@billsgeneral236 I always love a wacky board. I'm curious as to why you have Wagler and Acuff so low?
English

NBA OUTLOOK -
The swing skill here is clearly the shooting. If Caleb Wilson is able to shoot 3PT at even an average clip, it opens up the runway for his athleticism to really take off in the NBA.
Caleb Wilson is #2 on my draft board.
Ceiling: uber-athletic Pascal Siakam
Floor: Marvin Bagley III
It's a wide net to cast on the player that Wilson might be, but with a player who relies heavily on athletic tools, Wilson's career path could take many different directions.
At his best, Wilson becomes a two-way, play finishing, transition animal who can change games and his team with his elite athleticism.
If the skills don't catch up and the shooting remains inconsistent, his NBA role will be somewhat limited.
I believe the bet on Wilson is one worth making 100/100 times.
