I like Nick Woltemade but he’s not able to play as a lone centre forward in the Premier League as things stand. And for his fanboys and girls read this statistic The German has not scored in the league since December, managing only 31 shots on goal in 30 league appearances this season with only 12 on target. Of his seven goals, one was a penalty #nufc

Eddie Howe on why he benched Lewis Hall: "It's always a difficult decision because Lewis is an outstanding player and you never for any second doubt his qualities and what he can bring to the team, but I felt today for a number of reasons that Dan was the right pick in terms of height and physicality and dealing with Arsenal's threats. "Dan's never let us down in that position. He plays it very differently to Lewis. But I thought that was the right call for this game."

Arsenal were there for the taking for Newcastle tonight. The home players sinking to their knees on the final whistle underlined just how nervy they and their fans were tonight. They’ll struggle to win the league if they continue to play like that. Newcastle were better than recent, they looked organised and motivated. But a lack of a cutting edge. And when they got it, they missed. I actually don’t think it was an easy chance for Wissa, but it was the finosh of a player who hasn’t scored in 2026. Woltemade looked dangerous in a rare no.10 run-out, and Tonali was the best player on the pitch. Still though, another defeat. Five on the spin… #NUFC
