10-year gilt yield hits its highest level since 2008 - that's eh, that's quite something, really

Covid inquiry Not locking down early enough led to more lives being lost. Lockdown messaging “stay at home” cost more lives. What’s the point if the covid inquiry doesn’t acknowledge trade offs??? thetimes.com/article/de9172…

HT: 🇫🇷 FRA 24 - 27 ENG 🌹 Where on earth has this England team been for the last month? Some serious confidence, drive and passion on display. Silly from Genge at the end to narrow the scores. Discipline letting England down again.

@tomhfh Her position important if keeps it up by 2029 though. That’ll drag her party towards her. Especially with reform blowing in the wind policy making

The fact that Badenoch is now the country’s most popular leader *while* the Conservatives still languish in the polls shows just how tough the challenge is for the world’s oldest and hitherto most successful political party. Trust with the brand was completely broken.
Luke Tryl@LukeTryl

In the leader approval ratings Badenoch hits her highest since becoming leader at -6. The first time she’s been ahead of all four other main party leaders. Starmer also up from his low though still far behind the pack at -41. Davey (-10) Polanski (-12), Farage (-13)

Americans are taxed at 35% on $250k. Brits are taxed 45% on £125k. Sigh.
