I'm proud to announce the release of the final version of Nagasaki Kitty today, the 78th anniversary of the bombing. This project has seen many iterations and has taken a lot of work. My goal was to create historical knowledge through play. I hope that the game achieves this!

@AccTheMoon @Velixious I second this! I use it in my classes too. An added benefit is that the free trial gives (more or less) total access to the software for one month. So it is low barrier with free entry.

updating syllabus for intro to game design. starts w/concepts & principles, we want to introduce students who don't code to different game making tools. I have Twine and Click team fusion (they use these already) - any other suggestions for low entry barrier? #gamedev @moreelen?

I taught my Narrative Co-creation workshop today. As a part of it I created a sample project for my students. I might have had a little too much fun with it. If you only watch one academic video featuring a dancing stuffed bear today make it this one! youtu.be/PEtQiPiYjMQ

@GeraldVoorhees i would think most everyone who just attended the "sr" DiGRA panel no? and I would wholeheartedly say @miaC would definitely hit all 3 criteria

Who is this for game studies? I can think of a few people that meet 1 or 2 of the 3 criteria (senior; highly visible, approachable) but can’t really think of anyone be who hits all the boxes.

@TheVGLibrary @KoeiTecmoUS @koeitecmoeurope I am still in the early stages of this research, but, yes I have. @rhutch100 has a chapter in her book "Japanese Culture Through Vidoegames". @miaC mentions Okami in her book "Atari to Zelda". There is also an article in "Loading..." by Chris Pruett "The Anthropology of Fear".

@rhutch100 Hahaha. Yes! When I was deciding what to include the Nuppeppō was an easy choice.
