@mochikelsie I would think just a motion? I don’t see why a hearing would be needed but I also don’t see why this needed a hearing either tbh. 😭 But I think Garnett just wanted to be transparent about her plans for both possibilities - if Carro did and if he didn’t adjourn trial.

@rylienicole01 yes. The author also isn't advocating for anything other than he believes he truly didn't do it. I just got it today and only just started reading it.

🚨BREAKING: New York State Judge delayed Luigi Mangione's state trial until September 8. Because of this, Luigi's federal trial will have to be delayed until Dec or Jan 2027, as the Federal Judge said "Whether we like it or not, we are at the will of the state case".

Garnett said she was reluctant to move trial to 2027 only because the state hadn’t adjourned trial until September yet, which is why she pushed the federal trial back two weeks. Now that Carro agreed to adjourn trial until September, Garnett will likely adjourn until 2027.

@latenightlalli Also, it seems Garnett does not care to have federal go first, even though she scheduled before Carro. But a win is a win. Defense got more time, which is what they needed.

@latenightlalli This is what the defense requested, so good! Garnett will likely move the federal trial to December or January now. Gives defense more time for both. Obviously we wanted federal to go first, but Carro is not letting that happen, so this is the best option rn.
