The talk explores the productivity challenges faced by leading high-growth firms, the role of limited markets and financing, and the overabundance of stagnant mature firms. About the speaker: Gee Hee Hong is a senior economist in the IMF’s Italy team in the European Department. Previously, she worked in the IMF’s Research Department, Asia and Pacific Department, as well as the Fiscal Affairs Department. She holds a PhD in economics from the @UCBerkeley. Prior to joining the @IMFLive, she worked at the @bankofcanada (2012 –2014) as a senior analyst. She has a wide array of interests ranging from #demographics, #inflation dynamics, productivity, and #fiscal issues. She has published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the @AEAjournals American Economic Review, the Review of Economics and Statistics (@restatjournal), @SFSjournals the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Monetary Economics.
