@IanCameron23 You should have asked the President to extend Madlanga Commission mandate to include the Western Cape, but your DA colleagues were more interested in casting aspersions against General Mkhwanazi. You can still do so and save our nation from criminals and cartels.

This is how cases collapse. Not because a firearm was not recovered. Not because an arrest was not made. But because the basic SAPS evidence process failed after the firearm was already taken off the street. I have taken note of correspondence from the City of Cape Town raising serious concerns about firearms and ammunition seized during April 2026 that were allegedly still sitting in SAPS 13 stores and had not been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for ballistic analysis. These exhibits include illegal firearms, firearms with serial numbers filed off, zip guns and live ammunition. The listed stations include Philippi East, Manenberg, Mitchells Plain, Philippi, Khayelitsha, Nyanga, Delft, Mfuleni, Athlone, Grassy Park, Steenberg and Bishop Lavis. Firearm and ammunition exhibits are supposed to be sent to the FSL within 24 hours, or on the Monday after a weekend. If that does not happen, ballistic evidence may be delayed, fingerprint evidence may be compromised, the chain of custody may be questioned, and prosecutors may be left with weaker cases. This is not paperwork. This is the difference between a docket that can stand up in court and a case that gives violent criminals another gap to escape accountability. Communities cannot be asked to trust the criminal justice system if firearms are removed from the streets, but then not processed properly by SAPS. The question is simple: who failed to ensure that these exhibits were sent to the FSL, and what consequences will follow? South Africa does not only need more arrests. We need arrests that become properly investigated cases, properly prepared dockets and successful prosecutions. I have already written to the National Commissioner requesting urgent answers, including whether every listed exhibit has now been sent to the FSL, why the delays occurred, and what steps will be taken against those responsible. I will provide feedback once SAPS responds. This is how cases collapse. Not because a firearm was not recovered. Not because an arrest was not made. Julius Malema was supposedly “arrested” for discharging a firearm in a crowded area. I’m being generous when I even call it an arrest. He simply transported himself from a hotel room to court. His crime happened in KuGompo City The Investigating Officer is based in KuGompo City Yet not a single officer travelled to Polokwane, Hyde Park or Cape Town to verify his addresses. They took his word for it and granted him bail purely on the strength of his voice and status. But when it comes to ordinary citizens like Brown Mogotsi, Fadiel Adams and others, suddenly the State needs 7 days to “verify addresses” while the accused languishes in prison through freezing winter nights. It’s starting to look like bail hearings are becoming the State’s new Stalingrad strategy to punish people without power. Truth be told, there was no reason to keep Mogotsi in prison. He should have been granted bail today. That Magistrate is a coward. Sies, maan!!

First it was Katiso Molefe's R400k bail. We were astonished. Then it was Khan and Kadwa's R20k bail. Then it's today's Kwaggafontein. We get shocked, and tweet and tweet and complain and lament among each other. They monitor our reactions, their Communications people monitor our reactions here, Facebook, TikTok. They give each other reports about the mood. They know there's nothing we can do. They arrest General Khumalo, they arrest, or let's say charge, General Masemola.... IT'S ALL NPA/IDAC/PROSECUTORS/MAGISTRATES What am I saying? Nothing. What did General Mkhwanazi say? A lot.

Dude arrived tactically prepared like the big boss personally briefed him on the operation… …only to watch the accused sing, dance, smile for the cameras, and walk out because the prosecutor never pitched. But I’m sure this getup at least made everyone feel safe.

Prosecutor found in contempt, with a warrant issued for his arrest. Matter struck off the roll. It doesn’t get more embarrassing for the NPA in one of its “Big 5 Cartel” cases. The prosecutor failed to appear, and the control prosecutor chose lunch over court.

@MickyMthethwa @MediaZaban865 Thank you. I was worried that the amounts to the dismissal of the case. Strange why the magistrate did not simply grant the accused bail instead of struking the matter off the roll.

@rzondo @MediaZaban865 Matter is being struck off because the prosecutor didn’t pitch up and the control prosecutor chose to go for lunch. It doesn’t mean there’s no merit to the case. It needs to be re-enrolled.

To be fair to you Magistrate I will put two propositions to you and they can't be BOTH wrong, so you will have to choose one : Were you threatened by the criminal cartel before the court.. or you just willingly took a bribe from them? #Sibanyoni #MadlangaCommission

Concerns have been raised over the conduct of a prosecutor who failed to appear in court during the bail application of taxi boss Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni and his three co-accused today. As a result of the prosecutor’s non-appearance, the magistrate struck the matter from the roll, leading to the release of the accused, who faced extortion and money laundering charges. The NPA needs to urgently investigate the circumstances surrounding the prosecutor’s absence. He has been found in contempt of court. @HeidiGiokos @pule_jones

Many people screamed for “evidence” when Gen Mkhwanazi warned that organised criminal networks had infiltrated parts of SAPS and were working to neutralise top cops fighting organised crime. At the #MadlangaCommission on Friday, Adv Mathew Chaskalson methodically stitched together a deeply disturbing picture.⚠️ According to evidence presented: ● Mogotsi fed Cat Matlala sensitive intelligence info, including property details, vehicle registration numbers and salary information linked to HR/recruitment processes under Crime Intelligence head, Lt Gen Dumisani Khumalo. ● Chaskalson outlined multiple incidents where Mogotsi clearly targeted Gen Khumalo while simultaneously feeding Gen Mkhwanazi lies that Khumalo was plotting against Mkhwanazi, an apparent attempt to divide the two senior officers and disrupt operations from within SAPS. (he can be charged for this if Madlanga recommends so)... ● Mogotsi helped Matlala open a case against the PKTT. ● Mogotsi approached Minister Mchunu in attempts to influence and effect #arrests and #criminal charges. ‼️Enter Faidel Adams: so determined to nail Lt Gen Khumalo that he went shopping for complaints across three different police stations, including Westville prison, until he found some traction in an HR matter. So Chaskalson pointed out that Adams used Mogotsi’s own co-handler to open the Soweto case, meaning it is the same network, same playbook! ● Chaskalson said Adams and Mogotsi openly targeted both #Mkhwanazi and #Khumalo. ● He said Mogotsi also tried to pressure Minister Mchunu to charge Gen Khumalo in matters unrelated to him. (A matter that was about ANOTHER Khumalo)😂 ● Mogotsi also attempted to trap a colonel during Gen Khan’s disciplinary process in a way that could have led to Khumalo being prosecuted for defeating the ends of justice. ● A text message was also referenced in which Mogotsi informed Mchunu that he was meeting DNC Sibiya and Nkabinde in KZN to “finalise” the Mkhwanazi and Khumalo matters (potential charges). The Commission on Friday painted a picture of coordinated #interference, strategic #leaking, #manipulation of complaint systems, political #influence, and attempts to #destabilise SAPS leadership involved in combating organised crime. The people who demanded receipts are now watching them being unpacked, one by one, in public. Cred: @pinkykhoabane #fyp #PKTT #SAPS #Mogotsi #MadlangaCommission #Mkhwanazi
