@freedombill3 Makes no sense. If you rent you have to pay double. Rent plus invest. Buying is already investing.

Freedom Bill 💸🏖️🏝️
I know a couple renting a two-bed flat in London Zone 3 for £1,400 a month. No garden. No parking. They max their ISAs every single year and have £80k invested. I know another couple who got on the ladder with a 95% mortgage. £2,100 a month. New kitchen on finance. Zero savings. One couple owns a flat. The other owns their future. Renting isn't failure. Stretching yourself into a house you can't afford is. Which one are you?

@_Unknown_D_ My point is that people on that salaries are in debt over their head so don’t really have an option. Idea is that again, people earning over 100k are usually business owners which know ways to deduct that tax. At least on my social scale.

@_Unknown_D_ Stop trying to earn more then. I dare you. None will stop no matter how big the taxes get. Everyone loves even the couple of pennis so stop pretending people will not move into management roles because of tax. Just stop

Andry Burnham’s proposed 50% tax rate for high earners is pure insanity. Someone on student loans earning just over £100k would face a marginal tax rate of about 70%, what is the point of trying to earn more. Got government keeps 70p of every pound and I keep 30p 😂😂

@_Unknown_D_ The thing is: people who have 90k salaries have half a mili mortgage and 100k cars. It’s not up to them if they move up in a company or not. If they don’t they are free to go; but guess what? They are not gonna to cause they have 5k a month of debt. Capitalism is beautifull

@sabitu01 No offense but only an idiot would believe a 70% tax rate would have no dictionary effects on people’s incentive to work more or get promoted.

@_Unknown_D_ It’s already as big as it gets. People still follow it up. The thing is: when you work in a corporation who doesn’t care about you, they will push you into positions regardless of what you want. So people do not much choice

I suspect Burnham will raise the personal allowance to £15,000 for everyone, but will then apply 50% from around £110,000, and possibly 60% above £200,000.

@eMTBrides Why are actors paid that much? I get they work, fair play, but it’s not that much graft for the money. Ridiculous. I know the movies make money and all but better pay everyone less and make them more affordable on cinema netflix etc

@sashayanshin U don’t get punished. Earning 2-3 million profit out of 10 in a year, i am certain you can have a nice life. The problem is you see..greed. As if you make 100 mil profits you want to keep all like a little hoarder that pays his employees minimum wage but drives a rolls

Imagine you build a successful business in the UK. It makes £10 Million profit. First you pay 25% Corporation tax = £2.5 Million. Your net profit after tax is £7.5 Million. Average UK P/E ratio for public companies is ~15.4. Let’s use that as a proxy. This business is worth £7.5 Million x 15.4 = £115.5 Million. UK Government wants to tax you 2% wealth tax on your net worth above £10 Million per year. 2% x (115.5 - 10) Million = £2.11 Million. So you have to pay yourself a dividend of £3.48 Million which will pay 39.35% dividend tax to pay the wealth tax. Remaining Company profit = £4.02 Million. If you want to have that money, you have to pay dividend tax again. After the tax you have £2.44 Million. So the net effect is that if you make £10 Million, the UK Government will take 75.6% of it as tax. Almost half of this tax comes from the 2% wealth tax. It’s an extra 35% tax on profit in this example. Problem is dimwits who were “good at maths at school” and politicians don’t understand basic maths. This will mean absolutely nobody will take the risk to invest or start a business in the UK. What is the point? If you are lucky enough to succeed, you will get punished hard. Jobs will not be created. Investment will dry up immediately. Anyone starting a business who is young enough will move. The power of FAFO will lead to a collapse in living standards and a collapse in economic growth. This will destroy the UK economy and be the biggest own goal in a generation. Why are we blindly walking into a self-orchestrated financial disaster? But hey - it sounds good because an idiot YouTuber who has no clue said so. It has good vibes. Tax the millionaires! What is so bad about a 75.6% tax exactly?

So how many people have actually taken this offer up or plan to?? You can literally order this on @Apple pay 🤦🏻‍♂️ Brand new (2026) model 3 @Tesla for just a £2700 down payment and £225 a month for 2 years 🤯 then just upgrade it! You can control the car’s interior on the Tesla app so on hot days you set it to the temperature you want before even getting in the car, the technology alone is worth the price 😂 Yes this has done the rounds on here but I’ve been struggling to find reasons this isn’t a good idea. I drive a Range Rover sport that costs me around £500 a month in fuel ⛽️ You can get this charged at home for anything between £5-£10 for 250+ miles (no brainer) or at a charging station for around £20! As soon as the uk 🇬🇧 allows FSD I will be all over this deal, having a personal chauffeur for £99 a month? Erm yes please 🙏🏼 (Estimated to be end of 2026-early 2027) @elonmusk I know the uk is always dragging its feet behind every other country when it comes to anything but hurry them up and push this through 👊🏼

$1 million today gets you about $30k a year in safe income. You cannot live off that unless you are eating ramen under a bridge. The real sweet spot today is $5 million. In 30 years it will be $20 million. People need to stop saying “invest $200 a month at 10% and you will retire a millionaire.” It does not work. Think bigger.

Just a reminder that you can drive a brand new Tesla model 3 for £245 per month with a low deposit on a 2 year lease. It cost £4 for a full charge Everyday this week I preconditioned my car to 15 degrees via the Tesla app before I drove. Your not finding a better car at these prices.

In 2013, George Clooney gifted $1 million in Tumi suitcases to each of his 14 closest friends during a dinner party, personally covering the taxes as well. According to longtime friend Rande Gerber, Clooney told them: “I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is, I’ve got your money. The bad news is, I don’t have it anymore.” Each friend also received tax coverage so no one would owe a cent. Clooney’s decision was inspired by gratitude rather than extravagance. These were the friends who had loaned him money, given him a couch to sleep on, and stood by him before fame. The act became legendary in Hollywood, a reminder that wealth means little without generosity. Clooney’s friend Rande Gerber later said most recipient was a working professional, some barely making ends meet, and that Clooney’s gift “changed their lives overnight.” © History Pictures #archaeohistories
