@sabletide if someone likes a general con photo and asked for a little extra care on the edit unless im busy i probably do it.

Please don’t edit a photographer’s work without permission, even if it’s “just a fun filter” or a quick tweak.
Most convention photographers aren’t doing this as paid work. We’re volunteering our time to document the event and give attendees memories they can look back on. During a con, we may take thousands or even tens of thousands of photos. Even if we only upload a few hundred, spending just 60 seconds per image would still turn into many hours of extra editing after the con.
500 photos would be over 8 hours!
The reality is that general con photography is about capturing the moment as it happens. Parades, hallway interactions, quick smiles. Not producing a fully retouched studio portrait for every single shot.
That doesn’t mean we “don’t care” about the quality or the fursuiters in the photos. It means we’re doing the best we can with limited time, often for no money and often with very little credit.
If someone wants a specific edited look or a more polished final image, that’s what commissioned shoots are for, but casual con uploads should still be respected as the photographer’s work.

Let me introduce you to @furtrack. Photographers take dozens, hundreds - maybe even thousands of pics at a con/meetup and post them there. I’m thankful that they (or others) even take the time to tag who’s in their pics. But if you think that they’re editing pics before posting their “best version” to the site then you’re insane (at least the majority - this isn’t a paying job for most - it’s a hobby). It’s a fursuit parade. You snap a pic and quickly move on to the next subject the next second or you’ll miss it. This is the first time a photographer has ever had a problem with me editing their pic of me. And I’ve obviously embraced it and learned not to tag photogs if I further edit their original work 🤷
