Interesting idea: leverage your portfolio I made a spreadsheet to model it out (link below). On a $100k portfolio with 6% yielding bonds and 9% yield in equities: You make $335k over 10 years (great!) but you pay Basic $291k in various fees (bad!) So you net out only $46k

I support the stablecoin bill and agree many yield-bearing stables may veer into securities or banking territory – but I don't think passing through yield on t-bills (i.e. no managerial efforts) necessarily rises to that level. A better way to address the concern about payment stables crossing into securities/banking territory is to simply exclude "securities" and "deposits" from the "payment stablecoin" definition (which both the house and senate bills already do in some form). You could strengthen that existing exclusion on securities/deposits and get to the same place without an outright prohibition that might shut the door on new business models in the future...
