woohoo a Japanese publisher just made an offer to acquire the rights to Tiny Experiments! I studied Japanese as a teenager & spent a semester in Tokyo / 上智大学 when I was 20 so this feels special. Plus Japanese books have the coolest covers so I can’t wait to see their designs!

I’m thinking of doing some cross-promos for the launch of Tiny Experiments! You mention the book in your newsletter next week, I mention your product / newsletter in my mine (110K subs) in March-April. Say hi below if you feel like it could be a good fit and I’ll DM you.

@AdamMGrant This message needs to go far and wide. Our response, reactions, and what we internalise from adverse experiences shape our predictions throughout life. It's why self-awareness and building self-safety are powerful personal skills.

If your activites don't include risks like this, you're not optimizing dopamine or training for optimal resilience...dopamine isn't just about reward. Dopamine mediates threat and safety learning through projections to the amygdala, medial prefrontal cortex, and striatum.

Fan video of the Pidcock crash sent to us by a follower. You can clearly see he lands in a very deep rut, which launches him into the banners

@fasterchanges Haha exactly! It's such a lovely distraction from screens, emails, plans, deadlines. Simple. I'd love to see bald eagles flying. They're much bigger than I thought they were!

@sabrinacoaching I would never get anything done if I could see those guys looking out my window. The same thing happens when I see the bald eagles here, but they are flying by so it’s temporary. Your cuties have a play date!

My cat avoided my cat tree for many months. But when I got back home today, I suddenly saw her on top of it. She came back down shortly after. Not sure if she'll go back to ignoring the cat tree. Who knows? Does your cat randomly change its napping locations, with no reason that you can figure out?

Can we capture emotions in a few universal categories? This seems intuitive... but join this week's Inner Cosmos podcast with guest Lisa Feldman Barrett (@LFeldmanBarrett) to find out why this textbook model of emotions is the wrong way to think about it. eagleman.com/podcast/86 #brain #emotion
