I joined the civil services inspired by him—he is from Kolhapur and I am from Sangli—so taking over from him is particularly meaningful for me. I have spent four crucial years in the BMC, including during the challenging COVID period, which has been an invaluable experience. This institution, with a legacy spanning over 150 years, carries immense heritage even as it continuously reinvents itself. Today is the 161st birth anniversary of Dr. Anandibai Joshi (See below - Google Doodle in her honor, from a few years back). Anandibai was the first Indian woman to study western medicine - graduating from the Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania, in U.S. in 1886. After completing her medical education, she returned to India. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1887 at a young age of 23, from Tuberculosis.

अत्यंत दुःखद बातमी. माझा सहकारी आणि Team Devendra सांगली जिल्हा संयोजक चि. तेजस देशपांडे @t_deshpande यांच्या बाईक चा काल मिरज ते गणपतीपुळे प्रवासादरम्यान, लांजा येथे भीषण अपघात झाला असून त्यात त्यांना गंभीर दुखापत झाली. आत्याधिक रक्तस्त्राव झाल्यामुळे इस्पितळात पोहोचण्याआधी त्यांची प्राणज्योत मालवली. ईश्वर त्यांच्या आत्म्यास शांती प्रदान करो, तसेच त्यांच्या परिवाराला या दुःखातुन सावरण्याचे बळ प्रदान करो हीच प्रार्थना. 💐💐💐💐🙏🙏💐💐💐💐 ॐ शांती 🙏

या आहेत आपल्या राज्याच्या महिला व बालविकास मंत्री ना. आदिती तटकरे. राज्य सरकारमधील महिलांचा आवाज किंवा महिलांची जबाबदारी असलेल्या खात्याच्या त्या मंत्री आहेत. मागील काही दिवसांमध्ये खरात प्रकरण असो, यात यांच्या खात्याअंतर्गत येणाऱ्या महिला आयोगाच्या अध्यक्षांवर झालेले आरोप असो, हृषीकेश वैद्य, काल समोर आलेलं नवी मुंबईतील आदर्श म्हात्रे प्रकरण असो. रोज राज्यातील महिला भगिणींसोबत अत्याचार झाल्याच्या बातम्या, प्रकरणं समोर येत आहेत. पण, आपल्या महिला व बालविकास मंत्री बेपत्ता आहेत. या सर्व घटनांवर काही एक प्रतिक्रिया आपण त्यांची ऐकलीय का ? किंवा या प्रकरणानंतर याबाबत त्यांच्या खात्याअंतर्गत यावर एखादी बैठक घेतली काय ? याबाबत राज्यातील पोलिस महासंचालकांना त्या भेटल्यात का ? राज्यातील पिडीत महिलांना न्याय मिळेल, असा विश्वास देणारं ट्विट किंवा पोस्ट तरी त्यांनी केलीय का ? जर या मंत्री महोदयांना स्वतःची जबाबदारी काय आहे, हेच समजत नसेल, तर यांनी राजीनामे देऊन घरी बसावं. आणि आपल्या वैयक्तिक आयुष्यात वेळ घालवावा. उगाच मंत्रीपदाची खुर्ची उबवू नये. #womenSecurity @iAditiTatkare
