I guess you don’t understand the IF at the beginning of my sentence. Just like Ratface who had blocked me for questioning his motivations cause I found the selective outrage genuinely orchestrated then you can also dance to his tunes. The initiative from the start was “1 Million Coders for 1 Million Youth,” with enrollment expected to scale over time. So using doubt alone to claim even 50K may not enroll is not enough evidence to call it a political heist.
Also, a budget allocation does not automatically mean all the money will be spent. Budgets are projections tied to implementation and participation. If enrollment numbers do not reach the target, the full allocation is unlikely to be disbursed.
The proper focus should be on transparency, actual enrollment figures, delivery, and measurable outcomes and not assumptions alone.

You’re not wrong boss bout tech being the engine of global economies, and Ghana definitely needs to aggressively support innovation rather than choke it with red tape. But there’s a fine line. Even the US, EU, and China heavily regulate their tech sectors (look at the EU's antitrust laws or the US Congress grilling tech CEOs). The goal shouldn't be 'no control,' but rather smart regulation that protects citizens without killing the hustle of local innovators. We need policies that enable, not disable.

The whole economy of the US, China, and Europe is driven by tech, but you, Ghana, a country still developing, want to stifle it and have full control. Instead of supporting more innovation and the deployment of projects, you want to decide who gets to deploy and who doesn’t. Ghana oooh?

And we are all simply telling you to stop the enforcement and remove that bill. The reason those who passed it could not enforce it is because they eventually realized they had passed a ridiculous bill. How can you preach about 1M Coders and then make a U-turn to charge people just for being coders?

I have always reiterated that personally and officially, I am always open to informed and constructive criticism and opinions. Criticisms that jump on bandwagon trends and fail to be based on fact are treated with contempt because they are not only mischievous but intended to misinform. To all the 'IT Professionals' who all of a sudden are making all manner of spurious claims that the @MoCDTI through its Agency - @NITAGhana - is acting illegally, please read the National Information Technology Agency Act, 2008 (Act 771), Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772), the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations, 2023 (L.I. 2481) and the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendments) Regulations 2025 (L.I. 2512). The Ministry is simply ENFORCING existing legislation that has been on our books since 2008, 2023 and 2025. The proposed new legislation has NOT even been laid before Parliament. I welcome anyone to point out which specific action of the Agency is NOT backed by a provision under the stated legislation. We have a Country to build, and we will ensure enforcement and sanity in our Technology space. Cheers.
