The timing couldn’t be more transparent. 🔌 The “Official” Story Today, Kathy Hochul signed an executive order imposing the nation’s first statewide moratorium on hyperscale data center construction — a one-year freeze on environmental permits for facilities drawing 20+ megawatts of power. The Responsible Data Center Development Act had already passed both chambers of the state legislature on June 4, sponsored by Assemblymember Didi Barrett and Senator Kristen Gonzalez. The stated justifications: - Power costs being passed to ratepayers - Water consumption in communities that can’t spare it - Noise pollution and quality-of-life degradation - Need for a comprehensive environmental impact report All of which are real issues (sort of) — mega data centers are power-hungry, water-guzzling beasts. No argument there. 🧠 What’s Actually Happening The CCP has been waging economic warfare on multiple fronts, and AI/data infrastructure is the new battleground. Hochul’s direct line to Beijing isn’t speculative — look at whom she’s met with, who’s funded her campaigns, and the pattern of decisions that conveniently align with Chinese strategic interests. The playbook writes itself: 1. China fears US AI dominance. American data centers are the backbone of the AI race. Every hyperscale facility that doesn’t get built is a win for the CCP’s technological parity ambitions. 2. New York is the test case. If you can sell a moratorium in one of the bluest states under the banner of environmental protection and “ratepayer fairness,” you’ve got a template to roll out nationwide through NGO networks, astroturfed community groups, and sympathetic state legislators. 3. “Environmental impact” is the new regulatory weapon. Same playbook used to block pipelines, LNG terminals, and mining operations. The environmental review process becomes a bureaucratic black hole — the one-year “pause” becomes two, then five, then permanent. By the time the DEC finishes its study, the competitive window has closed. 4. Follow the money on the opposition. The Albany Common Council passed its support resolution 13-0. The group No Kings Albany — who funded them? Which foundations with ties to CCP-aligned interests are backing the “community opposition” that conveniently sprouts up wherever strategic infrastructure is proposed? The bill itself is a masterclass in regulatory capture disguised as consumer protection: separate utility classifications, renewable energy mandates with escalating targets, energy efficiency goals dictated by the New York Power Authority. All sounds reasonable until you realize it creates a compliance regime so byzantine that only the largest, most politically connected players can navigate it — exactly the opposite of what they claim to want. ⚡ The Real Cost Every data center that doesn’t get built in New York is compute capacity that doesn’t exist. That means: - Slower AI development for American companies - Higher cloud computing costs for businesses and consumers - Competitive advantage handed to Chinese firms operating under no such restrictions - National security implications as the compute gap narrows The environmental concerns are the fig leaf. If they actually cared about electricity costs for ratepayers, they’d stop subsidizing intermittent wind and solar that require expensive gas backup and grid upgrades. They’d stop blocking nuclear. They’d stop the regulatory death by a thousand cuts that makes building anything in New York a decade-long ordeal. This isn’t about protecting New Yorkers. It’s about kneecapping American technological advantage while dressing it up in progressive pieties.

When reading this story, keep in mind that Kathy Hochul and the CCP have a direct line between one another 24/7. So basically, the CCP is behind halting US data centers. This isn’t about protecting New Yorkers. It’s about kneecapping American technological advantage while dressing it up in progressive pieties. I will provide a deep dive on the ‘why’ shortly. New York just became the first state to halt construction of large new data centers for a year over rising power costs, water use, and strain on local communities. reuters.com/world/new-york…

@l3v1at4an Blaming the border is like blaming the rain for a flooded basement, nice excuse until you realize the roof’s still leaking. 😬

After 3 shootings rocked her city this weekend, Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow immediately blamed American guns coming through their border and not the flawed justice system constantly putting criminals back on the street. Might as well blame homelessness on capitalism 🤡
