HOUSE FIRE RESPONSE – GEDULD, SPRINGS DATE: 2 APRIL 2026 ADDRESS: PLASKET STREET, GEDULD, SPRINGS REPORT: Following a SaferCity panic alert received regarding a neighbouring property on fire, Blue Hawk Tactical units mobilised to the location. Ekurhuleni Fire Department was notified and arrived shortly thereafter. The Fire Department successfully extinguished the fire. It was reported that the fire was caused by flammable materials and a gas stove inside the residence. No injuries were reported. MEDICAL EMERGENCY PANIC ALERT– NUFFIELD DATE: 1 APRIL 2026 ADDRESS: WRIGHT ROAD, NUFFIELD, SPRINGS REPORT: Following a SaferCity panic alert received regarding a medical emergency, Blue Hawk Tactical units mobilised to the location. An ambulance was also dispatched to the scene for a 69-year-old male with a history of heart-related conditions. SHOPLIFTING INCIDENT – SUSPECT DETAINED & ARRESTED DATE: 30 MARCH 2026 ADDRESS: SELCOURT, SPRINGS REPORT: Following a silent panic alert received by the SaferCity Control Room, Blue Hawk Tactical units were dispatched to a retail premises in Selcourt. On arrival, one adult male suspect had been apprehended for attempted shoplifting. SAPS was notified and responded, after which the suspect was handed over for further processing. SMART CAMERA HIT LEADS TO ARREST IN MALVERN DATE: 18 MARCH 2026 LOCATION: HERIOT STREET, MALVERN, JOHANNESBURG REPORT: Following a SaferCity smart LPR alert received regarding a vehicle wanted for other serious crimes in Kensington, Blue Hawk Tactical units mobilised to the last known location and successfully located the vehicle within minutes in Malvern. SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR OPERATING AN ILLEGAL TAVERN DATE: 15 MARCH 2026 ADDRESS: BEDFORDVIEW REPORT: On 15 March 2026 Blue Hawk Tactical took part in an operation with Bedfordview SAPS, CPF and various other stakeholders. Units were tasked with assisting in finding and processing illegal taverns, where they managed to make 1 arrest and confiscate 8 cases of 750ml beer/cider/cooler. The detained tavern owner and his confiscated stock were taken to Bedfordview SAPS station for processing. TRUCK HIJACKING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN BRAKPAN DATE: 15 MARCH 2026 ADDRESS: QUEEN STREET, BRAKPAN REPORT: Following a SaferCity alert received regarding a request for assistance with the arrest of a suspect residing in Queen Street, Brakpan, linked to a truck hijacking case, Blue Hawk Tactical mobilised to the location where access was granted by the suspect’s wife. During a search of the premises, the suspect was found hiding inside a cupboard. The suspect was detained without resistance and transported with SAPS members to Benoni SAPS, where he was booked in for further investigation. SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED THEFT DATE: 14 MARCH 2026 ADDRESS: DAVIS DRIVE, SELECTION PARK REPORT: Following a SaferCity panic alert received regarding an urgent request for assistance for an incident of mob justice in Selection Park. Blue Hawk Tactical and SAPS were dispatched. On arrival responding units established that a suspect had allegedly stolen a cellphone from a female complainant. While attempting to flee the scene, the suspect was intercepted and restrained by members of the public who were in the adjacent park area. Responding units secured the scene and monitored the situation until SAPS arrived. STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY DATE: 14 MARCH 2026 ADDRESS: MAYFIELD, BENONI REPORT: Following a SaferCity alert received regarding tracking coordinates for a suspected stolen vehicle in Benoni, Blue Hawk Tactical units mobilised to the location. On arrival the vehicle was successfully located while conducting an inspection, it was observed that the vehicle’s registration plates had been changed. Blue Hawk Tactical units mobilised to the location. On arrival store management confirmed that a customer had collapsed and required urgent medical assistance. SaferCity dispatched GPG Ambulance Services, who arrived on scene and attended to the patient. The patient was transported to Far East Rand Hospital for further medical treatment. WANTED VEHICLE STOPPED – BACK-UP RESPONSE LEADS TO ARRESTS IN SANDTON DATE: 27 FEBRUARY 2026 LOCATION: PARKMORE, SANDTON REPORT: At approximately 00:20, a request for assistance was circulated via the Sandton First Responders network after private security officers stopped a vehicle wanted by SAPS in connection with a theft case. The two occupants of the vehicle became aggressive, prompting an urgent call for back-up. Blue Hawk Tactical responded immediately, while SaferCity dispatched SAPS. JMPD TRU also arrived shortly thereafter. Both occupants were successfully detained and transported to the relevant SAPS station for processing. The black VW Golf they were travelling in was impounded as part of the investigation.
