@thingsnoticed It does look interesting right now doesn't it. Right now I'd like to understand more about how much those 600 Intuit physical stores cost, what they plan on doing with that in the future, how long those leases are, is the money for those significant. $intu

$INTU is down 20% and I keep going back and forth on this one. The numbers weren't bad. They actually raised guidance. So what are people selling? I think it's this -> TurboTax grabs your inputs, spits out a return, doesn't explain anything. A general AI model does the same job but talks back. That's a hard gap to close when you're a legacy product. But then -> 100 million customers, 40 years of tax data, regulatory relationships built over decades. That's not easy to replicate. Maybe they just become the interface layer for AI agents rather than fight them. They cut 17% of staff and signed with Anthropic and OpenAI the same week. I don't read that as panic. I read that as a company that sees what's coming and is trying to be on the right side of it. Still not sure how this plays out. Doesn't feel like a company that disappears. Feels like a company in the middle of figuring out whether its moat is an asset or just a slower way to lose.

$WMT possible iffy outlook reason. Conjecture minimal research. WMT is betting on cheap labor, internal process wise. As opposed to $AMZN opposite. If Ice deports enough people to drive cost of labor up, WMT will have increased labor costs & fewer customers. @taobanker

I ended up keeping all my $TAP shares with the price expiring below 50 strike. Own a lot of $TAP. Would like to keep trading around that position selling higher cost lots to retain a cheap core. Will very likely sell more covered calls at some point.

@taobanker I know you like their balance sheet but I still think $love heydey was sectionals with built in speakers for home theatre installations and no one watches movies together anymore so no need for it. I'm probably wrong.

@dirtcheapbanks $OZK has had a high short interest by people saying their loan book is heavily tilted towards commercial construction in process loans and surely they'll have a crisis soon. The shorts have been saying that for years. I personally would place my bet with George Gleason.

One of the companies I follow, and am a customer, announced they are using AI for customer service now. Tried it out. What they really meant was they wrote a script that replies randomly "No soup for you" or "You got nothing coming" or maybe just plain "No".

Credit score doesn’t tell you how a tenant will treat your property. Walking their current residence does. I recently started having my leasing agent meet applicants at their existing home to sign the lease before final approval. I picked this up from a Section 8 guy I follow on IG, but he never explained how he actually implemented it—so I tested it myself. Here’s what’s working: After income, credit, criminal, and rental history are verified—and we’re ready to move forward—we schedule the lease signing at their current residence. This expectation is communicated up front before they ever spend money on an application. If they know someone is going to see how they live—and they’ve destroyed the place—most won’t even apply. If the agent arrives and the home is clearly trashed, she doesn’t confront or discuss it. Lease gets signed, visit ends, and the applicant is later notified they were not approved due to the condition of their current residence. Late-paying tenants can be annoying. Property-destroying tenants crush returns. Excited to see how much this improves tenant quality long term.

@taobanker On self storage in general, gemini says boomers rent the most and stay the longest, with the rental size and duration declining with the age of the customer....

Is anyone keen on the self storage REITs? Historically I've been an $NSA guy but that's based off an old greenstreet governance assessment. They have a lot of debt. What's your top self storage REIT or is the industry cooked? Anyone still a $UHAL maxi?

@taobanker $UHAL as an investor the current price is compelling and they are expanding their franchise network, which has an accounting advantage for them in the current environment. As a customer, meh.

One thing that has kept me in the game in Q4 is talking to boomers about the market. They all believe the exact same thing: "Wait for a crash and it's going to be terrible."

I have no understanding of $NVDA products, but I do know that big company Supply Chain Managers commonly speak of developing inhouse to replace a supplier as a negotiation tactic. Will any of these announced NVDA replacements see the light of day? Who knows.

It would appear that someone is selling/shorting $ANF aggressively ahead of earnings. I wish I had words to soothe longs (myself) here, but whoever is doing this probably has information we aren't even aware exists from providers who won't even talk to us. Tough game.

Amazing how $uhal can screw up such a dominant franchise. 2.99% return on equity. I stopped by a Uhaul owned location to rent a trailer, what a disaster. Waited in line for an hour and gave up. Listening to the lone clerk berate customers for an hour was crazy.

@taobanker I'd buy it if the CEO opened the conference call with "Our most profitable customers are getting older and we don't have anyone new to replace them with. Therefore we will gracefully decline the company, paying out maximum dividends and minimal capital outlay." $bbwi
