@Sebontheweb @danno_omen Not really mate. I play a lot of narrative driven walking sims, love those kind of games. And i was expecting quite similar from Aphelion. I just miss depth in the few gameplay mechanics it has. Its just not interesting or compelling for me and feels rather flat.
English

@safranicus @danno_omen Aphelion is almost a walking sim.
It seems like you were expecting something else, which is probably why you're disappointed. The game likely has an identity crisis . If it were a first-person view like a other walking simulators, there might be fewer misunderstandings maybe...?
English

@Ravenismeee There was no boredom. Being outside with friends, in the forests, doing sports, playing music, reading books etc. Life was wonderful and rarely boring.
English

@Sebontheweb @danno_omen Have to disagree, although nice that you enjoyed it. Story, music and vistas are really good. But that alone doesnt make a game enjoyable for me. It needs good mechanics and gameplay. And Aphelion in that regard feels half arsed, no soul, no depth. Waste of money&time for me
English

@safranicus @danno_omen Aphelion was actually ok.very old school gameplay but great vistas/cinematic/music and overall great storytelling using the different point of view of the two characters.A good sci fi experience imo. It has some flaws that probably can be patched i think.

@MissPookems Started gaming in 1990. Still at it. Staying fit and working out a lot, but 2 years ago i got myself an adjustable desk😅 clear sign of becoming old
English

@DetectiveSeeds The Expanse, Silo, Fargo, Dark would be a few i really recommend.

#Aphelion was one of my most anticipated games of 2026. After finishing the game, i was left deeply disappointed with this game. I was expecting much more from Don´t Nod. And i feel sorry that i can´t recommend it. Full review here: youtube.com/watch?v=bcnMcr…

@RinoTheBouncer Whatever RPG warhorse is developing, i cant help but be excited for it. These guys have proved that they know their trade and field when it comes to RPGs and immersive worlds.
English

Warhorse Studios (Kingdom Come: Deliverance) addressed rumours regarding working on a Lord of the Rings game🚀
✅Content director Ondřej Bittner stated that while he cannot disclose details, but he can tell us they’re working on a huge, immersive RPG
✅They added that their next RPG is “true to their colors”
✅Reports claimed back in March that Warhorse is developing a AAA open-world Lord of the Rings RPG under Embracer Group
✅Warhorse stated that they’re sticking to RPG, and aims to reveal their game in the near future
Do you want Warhorse to developed The Lord of the Rings game?😎
Source: @Eurogamer
(After the great success and the incredibly immersive Kingdom Come Deliverance, I feel that Warhorse are a perfect candidate to develop a game in The Lord of the Rings universe.
I’d love to see them make a 3rd person fantasy RPG this time, with the same level of world design realism as KCD, contrasting the rather first person grounded approach in KCD)

@TheIndigoGaming So he is essentially just using the name of the franchise and hopes for big numbers because of that?

"The books do such a great job so I won't be including Frodo, Aragorn or the One Ring in my adaptation."
DiscussingFilm@DiscussingFilm
Zach Cregger explains that his ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ movie isn’t adapting any of the games as it would be redundant. “There’s kind of no winning there if I were to tell Leon’s story, because the games do such a great job. It would just be kind of redundant &… disappointing.”
English

@realmacreynolds @Dexerto Massive respect and good luck on your first release. But to be honest, the game looks like 100 other games out there, marketing was non existent and there is already a ton of MP shooters. One of the toughest fields to break into. I wish you guys success but its gonna be brutal
English

hey guys - I co-founded the studio that made this game and thought I'd give a little more insight for those curious. We made Last Flag because we loved REAL capture the flag when we were kids, and none of our fav CTF game modes allowed actual hiding and finding. We wanted a complete new game experience for players with an affordable price, no microtransactions, and every cosmetic earnable by playing.
We're a small indie studio - so our game and marketing budget is 1/10th some of our competition (if you want to even put us in the same category as "major shooters"). We fought hard to get the word out, but our launch day had surprise overwatch & rivals update (& more). Cutting through the noise is really, really hard.
The irony is that many of the outlets who didn't want to cover our little game before and at launch are now sharing the story of its low CCUs (not as bad the stories say, but still too low). So lots of people are saying "why didn't anyone market this?", but we tried!
All that said, our team is so proud of this game - a lot of love went into it, and I hope our players feel it. We're workin on more maps, contestants, game modes, custom game modes, etc., and making sure the game stays alive for the people who gave it a shot or are just hearing about it. Thanks for listening, and keep supporting indie devs ❤️

Subnautica 2 launches into EA in 2 weeks!! After all the crazy court stuff going on between the CEO and Krafton (owner and part-publisher), a release this soon was not on my radar. Here's a recent video with a full breakdown of the story: youtu.be/KpJMPonuvlE?is…

@wesleytypes @DawnwalkerGame @RebelWolvesDevs the game looks fantastic and some really talented people working on it. my only really big concern so far are the system requirements for pc. they are a bit mental. here´s hoping they can work on the optimization a bit in the remaining months until release.
English

Rebel Wolves could be giving us the best RPG of 2026 with The Blood of Dawnwalker.
- open world dark fantasy RPG
- human by day, vampire by night
- reputation and alignment systems
- deep directional based combat
- time passes as you complete objectives
- 30 days and nights to complete the story
- 55-70 hours to finish the game
- dynamic world events
- side quests weave into main story
- made by industry veterans who worked on The Witcher series
We don't have many great vampire games, let alone open world RPGs that don't ask you to spend 100+ hours with them to see everything. I think The Blood of Dawnwalker is going to be a breath of fresh air and one of the best games of the year.

@JeseMartinez Played over 1000 hours since 2017. In recent years i tried it every 2 years. Sometimes it feels like its getting better, usually just worse. The new inventory sytem is horrible, and the old one too. No, SC is still the most ambitious delusion. I do hope one day it will be a game
English

Someone doesn’t play the game or has a really really really bad PC.
My son runs a RTX 3060 with a i7 10700k at 1080p at max settings and is sitting around 80FPS and in the city around 30ish.
New inventory system is amazing since 4.7. Just check out the stream and see how it runs.
I sit around 250fps and in city around 60-80FPS. Maxed out settings with photo mode clouds.
English

@JeseMartinez That is true. Unfortunately scale and music is about the only two things star citizen is actually good at. Add the graphics to that. Everything else is still an utter trainwreck
English

@DanielOlimac @DONTNOD_Ent Also very excited for this release. But i share your sentiment, dont quite understand why its so calm around this release. The few reviews i've seen have not been great though. Gonna play and test it nonetheless, but a bit worried.
English

Aphelion is coming out today (4/28).
One of the games I’ve been most looking forward to this year.
Visible marketing for this title is virtually nonexistent.
I'm sure the folks at @DONTNOD_Ent want the best for the game, but how do you spend years in production only to send it out to die with no marketing?
