Dear Car Manufacturers: Stop giving us 64-color ambient lighting. Give us a real car refrigerator instead. Right now, if you spend ₹25 Lakh to ₹40 Lakh on a new car in India, you are treated to a massive list of gimmicks. You get panoramic sunroofs that turn the cabin into a greenhouse, and touch-sensitive AC controls that are a safety hazard. But if you want a cold bottle of water two hours into a highway road trip? You get a Cooled Glovebox. It has just an AC vent diverting a tiny bit of cabin AC air. Not effective in a hot Indian summer. Cars crossing the ₹20 Lakh mark should offer a legitimate, compressor-based active refrigerator that chills drinks independently of the dashboard AC. And no, it is not a cost issue. At mass-production scale, a micro-compressor, cooling lines, and insulation cost a manufacturer roughly ₹12,000 to ₹18,000. Even with a healthy profit markup, adding it as a factory feature should cost the buyer no more than ₹40,000. India is a country of intense heatwaves and long family road trips. True luxury is tangible mechanical engineering that keeps your water, baby food, or medication ice-cold on a 12-hour drive. If the aftermarket accessory market can sell portable compressor fridges for ₹25,000, there is zero excuse for a ₹30 Lakh SUV to skip it. Would you trade a panoramic sunroof for a built-in fridge that actually improves your road trips?

@Kenu73 True. HDFC has been very clear in their MITCs for this, so I thought it was common knowledge. Scary to see how many people teach things without knowing it end-to-end themselves.

People are getting excited because they are copying data from Internet, using AI to filter polish and present data. Let me do some bragging as a Policy and Compliance market manager for an International bank or probably as an "Ex - Banker" Beyond the cred emails, beyond the chat gpt, real experience and read ccgeek stuff. The 3 days grace period has been there since July 16, 2015 ( RBI/2015-16/126 DBR.No.BP.BC.30/21.04.048/2015-16 ) even AI may not be able to scrape this data. I guess RBI's own website doesn't show this circular or I wasn't able to find it now but cached versions of other websites will still have it. But there was a flaw, the flaw which issuers like SBI Cards were exploiting and charging innocent customers. Meanwhile, I as a fresh graduate using credit cards not just for rewards but also the liquidity will squeeze the juice out of every feature which is as per the banking regulations, I will always pay my dues 3 days late. I would know all the credit card rules, policies and not just because I was working in the industry but cards were something which I was very passionate about. If my due is on 1st, I ensured I will IMPS on 4th, instant credit and had no issues. One fine day, I did the same with SBI cards, paid on the 3rd day and next statement I saw the finance charges being billed. I was surprised, how can a bank openly violate the RBI set rules and that too a company which is a majorly govt owned. I did the usuals, started by raising it with their customer service and once they denied, the first level escalation and then moved to PNO. This is where they shared a very shocking interpretation. RBI at that time used to write that no penal charges should be levied if dues are paid by 3rd day from the due date but what SBI CARDS interpreted was that Finance charges are a standard fee and not a penal charge, hence the fees are valid and closed this as final response. I filled a RTI, which was addressed incorrectly and purged stating that what I am asking is an opinion and not an information, I was advised to reach the ombudsman to fill the complaint and shared generic information. I obliged, reached out to Ombudsman, filled the complaint, requested a very small compensation amount. Eventually received the call from SBI Cards executive escalations team, they just issued a credit for the amount in question plus gave an additional credit in lieu of the small compensation that wasrequested but they never actually agreed to their mistake. I got to know from my relatives about them being billed charges for being 1 day late and so on. I was able to challenge and get my refund because I knew my rights and policies but many couldn't or wouldn't even know that it was possible and there were more banks doing this. Eventually this caught up, RBI cleared the policy and made it simple and very easy easy to comprehend and eventually removing the gray areas that some issuers were using. Hence the new changes or emails are important 😉 but not the way how many ccgeeks are posting it, nothings new. PS- many banks like HSBC, HDFC, AMEX were compliant from day one and some already have this in their MITC.

Air India now clearly writes that they are excluding the Award flights. They don't add it anywhere in the summary or year end report and I have a feeling that that the award flights don't count towards the Status retention, my number of flights towards the Gold retention/Platinum Upgrade seems off. PS- I know about tier points, I am talking about 45 flights for Gold.

The luxury sedan which doesn't care about corners or isn't about performance. it's comfort. Hybrid means good FE too. Singular focus on calm luxury. If you want a discreet luxury sedan the Camry is it. But after this facelift, it's more of a headturner.

@AshtonHallofc Of course out of all the urban places in India, he had to pick this one spot just to push the same old “poor India” narrative. Funny how the same Western A+ celebrities were happily dancing like puppets at Ambani’s wedding for the cheque though.

I have now come to a point where I can buy a ₹80L to ₹1 cr BMW or Mercedes according to all kinds of car-buying finance rules. However, my mother is advising me to buy a simple fortuner and hire a full time driver as it’ll be more convenient & reliable. That way, children in the house can also get dropped-picked from school/tution everyday which is a very tedious work to be honest. I seriously need some advice from a car guy as what shall I do? BMW or Mercedes will give luxury but fortuner+driver will make my life stress-free.

#2. 98 more to go. Delivered the second Bangalore retail order personally yesterday. Spoke to the customer, watched him unbox the product right in front of me, and him calling it better than anything he's tried before. Nothing like it. Thanks @sahilagar for the order, and the coffee.
