The dismissal of General Randy George by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth marks a historic fracture between the civilian leadership of the Pentagon and the professional military establishment. Military Resistance: Personal Agendas vs. National Security The purge of senior military leaders, including General Randy George, reflects a deep-seated conflict over the future of U.S. foreign policy. 1. Refusal to Engage Iran: Numerous high-ranking generals have reportedly voiced strong opposition to "Operation Epic Fury," an aggressive military posture toward Iran. These officers argue that such a conflict would lead to strategic overextension, depleting American resources while leaving the U.S. vulnerable to rivals like Russia and China. 2. Political vs. Professional Interests: Within the Pentagon, there is a growing sentiment that this push for aggression is driven by Donald Trump’s personal political goals, the influence of hardline pro-Israel lobbyists, and the demands of the MAGA base, rather than a clear threat to U.S. sovereignty. Military leaders have characterized these moves as a deviation from traditional defense strategy in favor of ideological loyalty. Pete Hegseth: Questionable Capability and Integrity Pete Hegseth’s appointment and his subsequent actions have sparked intense scrutiny regarding his fitness for the role of Secretary of Defense. 1. Lack of Strategic Experience: Unlike past secretaries who managed vast bureaucracies or commanded thousands of troops, Hegseth’s primary background is as a media commentator for Fox News. Critics argue he lacks the necessary grasp of global logistics, international law, and the complexities of modern warfare. 2. Integrity Concerns: Hegseth has been dogged by allegations ranging from financial mismanagement at veterans' organizations to personal misconduct. Most notably, his past rhetoric and associations led to him being flagged as a potential "insider threat" by his own National Guard unit before the 2021 inauguration. 3. A "Loyalty First" Doctrine: By firing seasoned officers like Gen. George and Gen. CQ Brown, Hegseth is seen as dismantling the "guardrails" of the military. The appointment of his close associates, such as Lt. Gen. Christopher LaNeve, to top positions suggests that political fealty has replaced merit and expertise as the primary requirement for leadership. The Impact: A Crisis of Morale The rapid "cleansing" of the Army’s top brass has created a crisis of morale within the ranks. Senior officers describe the current atmosphere as one of "anger and frustration," fearing that the military is being transformed into a political tool. This shift threatens to undermine the non-partisan tradition of the U.S. armed forces and increases the risk of an impulsive, large-scale conflict in the Middle East that the military itself advises against. #Hegseth #pentagon

Why Arab Kings Choose America Over Islamic Solidarity The apparent paradox of Saudi Arabia — custodian of Mecca, financier of global Wahhabism, yet intimate ally of Washington and tacit partner of Tel Aviv — dissolves once you understand one thing: the House of Saud has never governed by Islamic solidarity. It has always governed by mutualism. Every major alliance the kingdom holds was built not on shared faith but on interlocking survival interests, and those interests consistently point West. The Original Bargain It started in 1744. Muhammad ibn Saud, a tribal chieftain with ambition but no divine mandate, struck a deal with Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, a theologian with doctrine but no army. The exchange was simple: political authority in return for religious legitimacy. The Wahhabi establishment would declare obedience to the Saud clan a religious duty; the Saud clan would fund and enforce Wahhabi doctrine by the sword. This Diriyah Pact became the template for everything that followed — theology as political currency, exchanged for power and protection. Britain Built the State The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a territorial reality was made possible by British imperial patronage. The Treaty of Darin in 1915 enrolled Ibn Saud as a British client: London recognized his authority, provided weapons and a monthly stipend, and systematically neutralized his rivals — the Hashemites were shipped off to Transjordan and Iraq, the Rashidis were left to collapse. Britain was not interested in Wahhabi theology; it was buying a reliable proxy to control the Arabian Peninsula and eventually its oil. The Saudi state was, from birth, a Western-sponsored project. America Took Over When British power retreated after World War II, the United States stepped in seamlessly. The 1945 meeting between Roosevelt and Ibn Saud aboard the USS Quincy established the compact that still governs the relationship: Saudi Arabia guarantees oil supply priced in US dollars and orients its foreign policy toward American interests; America guarantees the physical survival of the regime. The petrodollar system that followed locked this arrangement into the architecture of global finance — Saudi oil revenues recycled into American Treasury bonds, American arms, American financial institutions. Destabilizing the House of Saud would destabilize the dollar. Washington therefore has a structural, not merely sentimental, interest in keeping the dynasty in power. Why Iran Is the Real Enemy Iran threatens Saudi Arabia in ways Israel never has. Theologically, the Islamic Republic offers an alternative model of Islamic governance — clerical, republican, anti-monarchical — that directly challenges the legitimacy of hereditary Gulf dynasties. Geopolitically, Iran's network of proxies (Hezbollah, the Houthis, Iraqi militias) encircles the Peninsula. And historically, the 1979 revolution proved that a Muslim monarchy could be swept away by a popular Islamic movement in months. That lesson has never left Riyadh's strategic consciousness. Iran does not merely disagree with Saudi Arabia; it actively competes for the soul of Islamic politics and the loyalty of Muslim populations, including Saudi Arabia's own Shia minority in the oil-rich Eastern Province. Why Israel Is Tolerated Israel, by contrast, poses none of these threats. It does not seek to overthrow Arab monarchies, does not compete for Sunni Muslim loyalty, and shares Saudi Arabia's principal patron — the United States. Washington will not choose between Riyadh and Tel Aviv. Both know this, which means genuine enmity between them would only destabilize the American umbrella both depend on. The result: Saudi-Israeli hostility has always been performative. Behind the speeches about Palestinian liberation, intelligence services cooperated, strategic interests aligned, and the Abraham Accords of 2020 simply made public what had long been privately true. Do your best dan jaga diri baik-baik. *SBY*

We, the people of Indonesia, with profound grief and deep outrage, strongly condemn the attack by Israel on UNIFIL forces that resulted in the deaths of three of our nation’s finest soldiers; this act constitutes a serious violation of international law and humanitarian principles, as they were serving as peacekeepers, and therefore we demand clear, transparent, and just accountability with no impunity for the perpetrators, as well as concrete guarantees for the safety of all peacekeeping forces worldwide. #UNIFIL #Indonesia #Lebanon #IsraeliOccupation

The coordinated campaign against me, orchestrated from abroad and conducted in English, is clear in its false motives. Its tools and methods are evident, and the responses of pro-Iran and pro-Brotherhood voices—along with their insults—reveal clear retaliatory motives. None of this will deter me from my firm stance in defending my country and the Gulf states, and in rejecting the aggressive Iranian attacks that target the Gulf more than they target Israel. I have made it clear in multiple posts that opposing this aggression does not mean I am siding with Israel; we also reject its aggression against Palestine and Gaza.
