When aviation faltered at Hyderabad last December, Ms. Shifali Kumar (IRTS:2008), Sr. DCM, Secunderabad Division, spearheaded a relief effort which led to running of 14 special trains that helped 3200+ stranded air passengers. Under her leadership, Secunderabad division opened an in-airport help desk at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad displaying exceptional inter-ministerial coordination and professionalism. I too advise the same to aspirants, to keep options open after 2 to 3 attempts. However, it is difficult to leave as human psychology won't accept it. There is a phenomenon called Sunk cost fallacy. I went through it, until I joined service at 31.
