Just saw someone say that we need to be understanding and graceful about "older generations" of women not having the correct views because "they just didn't have as much exposure to critical thinking as us" and lol what.

@DinahSW @RuthSinger I wish curators would feel more confident in overruling designers when the need is strong. And front of house volunteers were consulted with throughout development. They have rare insight into visitor reality which is frequently overlooked.

@RuthSinger I found them in the large print guide! I have learnt to always look at the LP guide. It can be a way around the ubiquitous QR codes too (grrrr) Art interpretation is not progressing is it?

Just been to a major London museum to see an art installation which included texts on ceramics. In gold, on a mirrored surface, in a dark room - I asked if they were available to read. I was told not to worry about them, they were part of 'the story' but not interpretation!!

@DinahSW I remember learning that refugees opened horse-meat butchers in Kilburn but if never converted the locals!

I picked up this book in Broadstairs at the weekend. I didn't know a lot about the Belgian refugees of WW1. The German invasion in 1914 was brutal & many of the 1.5 million refugees were displaced for the whole of the war. #WorldRefugeeDay2023

Things I learnt this week: 1. An 18 year old is still a child when they're very poorly 2. Trips to A&E are exhausting 3. Looking after poorly child is mentally & physically exhausting 4. Having interview questions sent before an interview is a godsend 5. Not getting jobs is shit

@bugsandfishes A) if you have onions + garlic; or soy sauce and sweet chilli, you can rustle up a good meal with whatever's in. B) Passata, and red kidney beans means you can always make a chilli or bolognese(ish) sauce (if you've followed rule A. C) There is never a wrong time for pancakes.

Right okay soooo: say a vegetarian person on a tight budget was considering learning to Actually Cook in her 40s after dining like a student for the previous two decades... where should she (I) start?
