@jackfhough We need a population decrease not more houses. We are a small island, we aren’t meant to have an ever increasing population. The entire nation will be a concrete jungle soon.

This is why shit never gets built. Just build the damn houses, give people opportunities, let families grow and the economy will flourish. We will always have a shortfall (in terms of the economy and housing stock) if we don’t do anything! It’s actually exhausting living here.
The Telegraph@Telegraph

Delivering Andy Burnham's 300,000 affordable homes would cost an estimated £47bn by 2036, leaving the new Prime Minister with a £8bn shortfall to the current funding pot, according to new research. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/…

Michael "Venom" Page voices his frustration with the UFC's matchmaking in his last three fights: "In all honesty, it's been frustrating. I feel like it's crazy that I've reached the pinnacle of MMA and getting a fight with someone in the top 10 seems incredibly difficult. It's excuse after excuse. Then we send another slate of names, and the same thing happens. I'm genuinely asking for everybody. It just feels crazy that I'm competing in the toughest combat sport in the world, surrounded by the toughest guys, and it's this hard to get those fights."

@RandA Looking forward to seeing every person who hits his ball into the rough receiving a penalty this weekend. Cause of course you wouldn’t single out one person would you. Integrity and all that…

@SamCKx Didn’t think he should have got the job when he got it. Not been happy with his management from the start. And completely blame him for this loss. Ended a match with 6 defenders on the pitch when you need a goal. Absolutely awful management

We got within 15 minutes of a World Cup final and now everyone absolutely lays into the manager who got us there within 18 months of being appointed. We do not have a squad of world class players. I’m as gutted as you all are, but this was a massive achievement. I refuse to get on yet another self destructive band wagon.

@AmyFairbrother7 @sam_golfuk That’s rubbish. We very rarely see anyone being convicted for benefit fraud simply because it doesn’t happen that much. If it happened a lot there would be piles of headlines but no. Stats show 1.4%, the main reason for that is people don’t report an improvement quickly enough

As someone who’s on PIP and had to go all the way to tribunal to get it because even after a face to face assessment they thought I didn’t need it (I have a physical disability) I agree the assessments are dehumanising but… 1/
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: PIP is set to undergo major reform after a Government review found it's not fit for purpose It found assessments can be so "dehumanising" that they drive some claimants out of work and having a social life

Genuinely want to know how people who don’t work remotely incorporate gym in their daily routine. You have to put aside a minimum of 1.5 - 2 hours for a proper gym session (commute included), how does that even work with a 9 to 5 where you have to cook dinner every night too.

I know just how hard it is to both hold and leave office, not just on those who held it but all those close to them too, as Keir rightly acknowledged today. He spoke with dignity and duty, and my thoughts are with him and his family. I was proud to serve as Deputy as he led our party into government. History will remember not just the challenges he faced but the achievements he oversaw. I pay tribute to his record of dedicated public service. His premiership saw us legislate new rights for working people, renters and leaseholders, invest in a generational boost to social housing, devolve powers to communities, the creation of Great British Energy and Great British Railways, action to tackle child poverty and so much more. This is a record of which any Labour government could be proud. Labour was elected to change Britain, and as a new chapter begins, we must now redouble our efforts to deliver for working people.
