Nail the basics. That's it. Don't get caught up in the final 1% if you haven't taken care of the easier to do and bigger bang for your buck first 99%. Work hard and don't buy into BS.

Great athletes have great attitudes about training. Athletes with bad attitudes about training make it impossible to receive the full benefit and have a negative effect on their teammates training. I would rather an athlete stay home than bring negativity to a training session.
