@sisumegistus @Ohmatis Wrong. Scholes was averaging 4-5 tackles a match all successful and a similar number of interceptions. He also used to pluck the ball off opponents feet. Man was as good as Keane cw red cards. Scholes lack of defense is revisionist.

@Ohmatis When Carrick and Scholes played together, we didn’t play a 4 because none of them were traditional destroyers. Scholes couldn’t even make a successful tackle to save his life.

Ederson is not a 6. And that may not be a problem at all. Many fans are still searching for the next Casemiro. A midfielder who sits in front of the defence, wins duels and protects the back four. But what if Carrick is building something different? Mainoo has developed significantly under Carrick. He is now much more comfortable dropping deep, receiving under pressure and progressing the ball from the first phase of build-up. That means United may no longer need a traditional No.6. Instead, they may need a midfielder who can rotate with Mainoo, forming a double pivot when required, then pushing forward or dropping back depending on the situation. That is where Ederson becomes interesting. His profile reminds me more of Joelinton than Casemiro. Not because they are identical players, but because both bring physicality, intensity, ball-carrying ability and the energy to cover huge spaces. Neither is a classic No.6. But both can make a midfield more athletic and harder to play against. If United sign Ederson, I don't think it means Carrick has found his new Casemiro. I think it means Carrick has decided he may not need one anymore. #MUFC

@black_manutd @theboyGandoki As I stated Scholes could play Carrick role better than Carrick himself ever could and he did so towards the end of the Utd career. Just that coaches preferred him at left wing, forward, roaming or attacking role. Lamps and Gerard could not even if asked to.

"They opted for the three over him," How is this about Scholes, were they not playing in the same man united.. What i want you to understand is that, instead of playing Carrick, who was more different than them and also brings composure in the team, they opted to shift either Scholes, lampard or Gerrard as DM, Through they're all good but their football is quite similar, England need a bit of calm in thier team to control momentum, that's where Carrick comes in, though all 3 were great players

@black_manutd @theboyGandoki Scholes was only played as a CDM/CM by Glen Hoddle and he was deadly effective in that. Sven preferred him on the left or attacking but his biggest issue was midfield disorganization and individual play.

@black_manutd @theboyGandoki If you are equating Scholes to Gerard and Lampard you shouldn't be commenting. Scholes was Carrick and Keane combined, plus sharper and better.

Bro Carrick is the most underrated player in English football but he was elite... One thing is English didn't understood his profile so they didn't call him to international tournament often, but he was the idle piece missing in the England national team during the time of Gerard, Scholes and Lampard...but they opted for the later 3 over him, they didn't consider what he brings to the team.. He was those days Busque, Rodri, ...he is a very intelligent player, and its funny ull never notice him ina game yet he was the core to man united since since he joined....... His positioning, game reading, game controll, passing, was so elite, you'll never see him in aggressive tackles because he does that with positioning, ..... I love Carrick a lot, especially his IQ.. I love him, I really love such players, Pirlo, De Jong, Busquest, Rodri, Xavi, ...so intelligent... that football was an art to them

@theboyGandoki He was underrated but wasn't world class. Sergio Busquests, Gattuso, Makaelele, Schweinteiger were all better to just to name a few. Was a great midfield but not world class ie couldn't get in every teams starting 11

@theboyGandoki He certainly was world class. He would have walked into any top class team in the world and improved it. But a maestro in the mould of Scholes he wasn't.

@RayToluAyo Scholes was quite good in interceptions, tackles and admittedly some bullying. Without him United were like chickens in a slaughterhouse.

Before this final, Manchester United had little chance against Barcelona but Sir Alex Ferguson now messed things up by himself Ferguson's first mistake was starting Javier Chicharito ahead of Dimitar Berbatov and Ryan Giggs ahead of Paul Scholes When I saw that line up, I laughed 😂. Barcelona will beat the hell out of Manchester United. Ferguson wanted to use Chicharito for a fast break without at least a control of the middle. Barcelona's power was Xavi, Iniesta and Messi The midfield needed some steel that will at least disrupt Barca's fluidity They will still eventually beat United but they would have felt the heat Forget Wayne Rooney's equalizer, it was one of the easiest Champions League finals I have ever watched United were outclassed, outplayed, outscored at Wembley Ferguson later admitted he should have used Ji Sung Park in the middle to man mark Messi..... Medicine after death.....

It's been 15 years since Barcelona put on a masterclass under the Wembley arch 🗓️🏟️ Still one of the greatest team performances in UCL final history 🐐✨

@PolySci_NG @RayToluAyo Scholes was United's best midfield maestro without him United could not have stretched the pitch in all directions as they usually did. Also could not occupy further forward. Fergie went gung ho rather than tactical.

@RayToluAyo No matter who you lined up, Barca would still have won. Their midfield just bedazzled the entire world in South Africa at the World Cup - beating top teams to the trophy. Who could stop Xavi + Busquets + Iniesta in 2011? No team could. Giggs was 38 & SAF started him. 😂😂😂

Long before the Bible or Qur’an were ever written, archaeologists digging through the ancient royal tombs of Ur uncovered a mysterious golden sculpture: a ram positioned beside a tree. They called it “Ram in a Thicket” because it resembled the later story of Abraham and the sacrifice narrative. But here’s the part believers rarely confront: The artifact predates Christianity. It predates Islam. It even predates Judaism itself. Which raises an uncomfortable question: Did the story come from divine revelation… or were later religions inheriting and reworking symbols that already existed in far older civilizations?

Manchester United fans, here’s my honest take: I genuinely think we should bring Marcus Rashford back into the squad as a proper squad player and start utilising him again. His best position is right-wing inside forward — cutting in on his left foot — but from there he’s versatile enough to play anywhere across the front three. If you go back and watch most of his games during Ten Hag’s first full season at United, and also his performances in the Barcelona matches, he looked really sharp and effective when he was used as centre forward or right wing. He had some very good games in those roles. Rashford still has quality and can contribute. Let’s stop wasting him on the sidelines and give him a proper role in the squad again. What do you lot think? 🔥 #MUFC #Rashford

"You have to scan before receiving the ball it's so important,a good midfielder has to scan maybe 4-5times before receiving the ball". -Yaya Toure explains why Man United "Couldn't handle" Barca midfield of Xavi, Iniesta & Busquets in 2009 Champions league final.👏🇪🇦

@badasskachii Macheda’s story is football’s cruelest genre. Some players spend 15 years chasing one unforgettable moment. He got his in the first hour… and spent the rest of his career trying to outrun it

Imagine being a 17 year old completely unknown kid, coming off the bench on your debut, and scoring a 93rd minute winner to literally win Manchester United the Premier League title. The following weekend we were playing draw with Sunderland, Macheda came on with ten minutes to go, scored the winner too😂. He literally handed us the trophy in his first hour of senior professional football. He had the biggest, most explosive introduction to world football. Unreal heritage.

@tano_urayoan @timmieobafemi And as I stated, no team was immune to Scholes making United tick, play with composure and playing at more advanced positions, whether u like it or not, or even Fergie liked it or not. He would have made United sharper in attack as that's what was lacking.
