French combine carbs with fat and are lean. Eat Dessert everyday. Have lots of snacks. Croissantmaxxing, Chocolatmaxxing, Buttermaxxing, and never get Fat. Because it's cold, portion control/they don't eat that much, and their cities(save Paris) are very walkable. Japanese cook with seed oils and are lean. Both Japanese and French eat significant amounts of Pork. Indians do indeed eat more carbs than required but the primary cause for high body fat % here imho is sedentary lifestyle. Thoughts?

Things BCCI can learn from Cricket Australia. — - Prioritise cricketing culture and fan experience, not just revenue. - Look at how the SCG crowd was allowed to witness the Ashes presentation. - Respect the game’s legacy, trophies should be presented by legends, not sponsors or officials. - A great example: Steve Waugh presenting the Ashes to Australia. In India, this moment is often taken by sponsors or BCCI officials instead. - Encourage respectful, well-managed fan–player interactions, especially after matches. - Upgrade broadcast standards, better camera angles, replays, storytelling, and passionate commentators instead of cringe ones. - Use marquee matches for meaningful social causes, like the Pink Test. - There’s far more to building a great cricket culture than just money.

@pulkitnpc The Balochistan entry scene and the one where Zardari announces coalition with Rehman's party - the best slo-mo entry shots with background music are reserved for the bad guy.. something that makes this such a standout movie.

@asmah2107 Hmmm.. add status as another column. Update the row on success/failure of message publishing. That increases the number of read/writes. But avoids transactions

@asmah2107 Generic idea - Make this an atomic operation. Rollback Db Update if the publish fails. Transactional in spring takes care of this.

Imagine your code does this: > Save Post to the Database. >Publish PostCreated event to Kafka. Scenario: The database save succeeds (Step 1), but right before line 2 executes, the server crashes or the network blips. Result: You have a "Ghost Post." It exists in the database, but downstream (Search, Feed) never heard about it because the event was never sent. How do you fix this ?

We had a good thing you stupid son of a bitch, we had Shami, we had Ashwin, we had a middle order and it all ran like clockwork. You could have shut your mouth, stayed in KKR, and made as much money as you needed, but you just had to blow it up, you and your pride and your ego.

@volklub I've heard testimonials in Pune where sales people have kicked and supposedly jumped over car doors just to show the build quality. But slamming brakes at 100 kph and asking "dekha sir.. stability" takes it to a different level.

One thing that performance-oriented brands like VW and Skoda should market more is the fuel efficiency of their 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI (Turbo) engines on highways when driven between 70–100 km/h. They can easily deliver around 18–20 km/l, and you still have ample power for quick overtakes even at triple-digit speeds, unlike naturally aspirated engines, which take slightly longer and where calculations sometimes get tight. Salespeople should be trained to help the average customer understand how these turbo engines are ideal for 40:60 city–highway usage. They’re actually better than CNG and hybrid options for highway runs because of their unique combination of performance and fuel efficiency.

My Amma, Ammamma used this a lot for cutting and peeling vegetables in kitchen. Used to cut quite well. In Telugu we call it Katthi Peeta literally meaning "Knife (Katthi) on a stand (Peeta)". Again with many new cutting boards coming in, don't see this much in cities , now mostly in small towns. How many of you experienced this?

Car brands that are not in the top 4 shouldn’t copy what the top 4 are doing. The sales of the top 4 happen by default, but you need to actively push customers to buy your cars. That requires compromising on resale value, support reach/network, and the mechanic ecosystem outside of authorized service centers. So at the very least, start with this: ✅ Provide an automatic gearbox even in the base variant. ✅ Offer 6 years of warranty on the engine and transmission. ✅ Introduce a buyback option after 3 years. ✅ Set up company-operated showrooms and service centers in big cities, with employees receiving high salaries and zero sales pressure. Train them to focus only on customer satisfaction and trust. In coming years top 4 players will only become stronger otherwise.

@volklub I check with VW and they claim that both VW Virtus 1.0/1.5 are E20 ‘compliant’; as well as the Tiguan. Can you share some clarity on that?
