This story was discussed on radio in Enugu and honestly, it sounds like something out of a movie.. A man based abroad sent his fiancée nearly ₦23 million to help him purchase land in Enugu. When he returned to Nigeria for their wedding, he asked her to take him to see the property.. She took him somewhere deep inside Nike village… and anyone familiar with that area knows land there goes for around ₦4–5 million, not anywhere near ₦23 million. That’s when everything started to unravel.. The man’s family got the police involved. During the investigation, it was discovered that she had actually bought the land for about ₦4.5 million. But it didn’t stop there. The sellers were also arrested too. That was when they discovered that She gave: ₦2 million to the sellers ₦1 million to the agent …just to get them to back her up and falsely claim the land was worth ₦23 million. A full-blown cover-up. The wedding? Immediately called off.. And when she was questioned, she reportedly admitted that a large chunk of the money had been spent on wigs worth millions and other personal expenses... This wasn’t a random person. This was someone he had been in a relationship with for years… someone he trusted enough to build a future with. Just like that, everything collapsed.
