Douglas County is under a flood warning until 1 p.m. this afternoon due to the excessive rainfall this morning. Deputies have handled a few calls to assist motorists who were stuck, including this one on U.S. Highway 56. Do NOT drive through flooded roadways.

At 3:22 pm, the children were located in Topeka, KS. The children are safe and the female suspect is in custody. The KBI and the Topeka Police Department thanks the public for their response and vigilance!
