@SPD_travels In comparison EDI will have more TALA flights in W26 than ever with Delta going all year round to JFK and an extended AA PHL season. Example- December EDI will still have flights to Newark, JFK, IAD and PHL.

A lot of people comment the fall of US flights from Manchester. But another airport that has suffered very badly, arguably worse, is London Gatwick. As things stand, this winter they will just have Orlando as a destination. Shows how much the markets can change.

@samgbaxter This is winter. VS don’t serve EDI in the winter.

In an update to this, the Monday Manchester-Barbados is now showing as A339. Currently, Tuesdays have no flights for that A339 between the BGI and JFK, so, could we see something that uses that aircraft? 🤷

American Airlines 2026 transatlantic updates: • PHL-EDI season extended from September 2026 to early January 2027 • CLT-FCO, MIA-MXP extended from October to end of November • CLT-ATH, PHL-NCE extended from September to end of October • DFW-ATH with 777-200ER instead of 787

@SeanM1997 Interesting- that’s the second BA Cityflyer summer seasonal service to move from EDI to GLA in S26 Only Florence left at EDI. I suspect there are a number of factors behind these changes not related to pax loads or catchment. Thoughts?

@meldrum_suzanne @EDI_Airport If you do a bit of reading and research (suggest on the Edinburgh planning website) you will see that there are various extensions in the works including new passport control and baggage hall

@EDI_Airport You are needing to spend money on arrivals and passport control, it really lets the airport down, first look for visitors

@_ZachGriff @AmericanAir Really- Edinburgh (The Athens of the North) has been voted the Best City in the World to visit not too long ago by Time Out, voted one of the best places for young people to live, and has a plethora of history, attractions, fine dining, globally top universities near by….

So @AmericanAir just announced its first international destination for the A321XLR: Edinburgh, Scotland. Flights will operate from JFK-EDI. Not exactly the sexiest route, but hopefully with more A321XLRs, AA will be down to experiment a bit more to unserved European cities.
