Reflecting on the Warriors win last night and I think the most remarkable aspect wasn't just the 40 points, but the fact they lost Capewell in the pre-game and CHT 10 mins in. Not many teams would deal with that in such a way that still allows them to score 40.

I don't care what all the administrators and security and personnel think... that was something special. Congratulations Alex Johnston.

@samhewat For me (non eels fan), I thought they showed real great signs towards the end of last year, I’d say on paper they’ve got a pretty decent side so I don’t expect them to finish bottom 4

@NigelKoelmeyer Absolutely and why not! Nothing ever surprises me in the NRL anymore. The Raiders last year the most recent example. Teams will always under perform/over deliver and that's just a fact of the comp. And I'm OK with it! It's just how I assess the teams at the beginning of the year

@samhewat Oops sorry mate . I knew I forgot someone. I just think parra with a fit Moses will go better this year . A lot of games last year they just got beat . I don’t know why but I just think they are there about. Top 8 for sure

@TroyLewisKiss And if I'm proven wrong, I'm proven wrong. It'll be one of many incorrect predictions, along with every single other person on this thread. As I've said before, show me the man who predicts 1-17 every year. Heck, even show me someone who gets the ladder right in groups of 4!

@TroyLewisKiss There is definitely logic on my part. The roster hasn't got better imo. They lost the guy who arguably should have won the golden boot in 2025, as well as Shaun Lane, Zac Lomax, and some others. De Belin and Pezet are good pickups but I don't see them as "upgrades".

@AdamKerrBell Agreed. Anyone who thinks there's only a few teams who can win it are well off the mark imo. It'll be a wide open comp once the bodies start getting tired.

@samhewat He will be a huge inclusion. Its such a tough comp to pick. 1-2 injuries can flip the whole script.

@trravisd Apart from Eels fans, I'm not sure why many people would have them much higher. They lost Brown, Lane, and Lomax. I would say the pieces coming in aren't "better". As always, could be proven wrong, but the objective evidence for me is they're not as strong.
