How do tier one esports teams analyse competitive, scrim, and SoloQ data to make informed decisions about the game? Now I've left FlyQuest, I've put together a long form article showing screenshots of the application we built, and some of my thoughts alongside it. Link below.

@Dom_Sacco @RLewisReports Did make me laugh when @TheUKETC was established to prevent this kind of behaviour. Then one of the founding members was accused of not paying players 6 months later and disappeared into the ether. Kind of sums up the entire UK scene to be honest.

Almost 10 years ago @RLewisReports said UK esports needs to be 'nuked from space' The younger, naive me thought it had a chance. I was hopeful. Today, I am finally where Richard was 10 years ago. Nuke the whole bloody thing and start again.

@Dragdar_ Also - champ unlocks used to take AGES and nobody really had an issue. Think I was playing for 3 or so years before I caught up and could consistently afford new champs - then they introduced shards and it was incredibly easy (too easy).

@Dragdar_ Honestly I don't think the people complaining played the game before it was any different. Hextech chests to me seemed crazy - I definitely avoided spending money since I would eventually end up with a skin on any given champ. As a result I haven't bought RP since...

Controversial take, I understand rewarding loyalty of work, but can't comprehend loyalty of leisure. I played this game for 15 years because I enjoyed it, not because I expected something in return. I *get* to play the game for free. Until that changes, I can't complain.

Early days still but... I just randomly spectated 10 high elo games 9 of 10 times Ruinous Atakhan spawned (instead of Voracious) 10 of 10 games were won by the team who killed Atakhan NOT saying Buff is OP, as: a) low sample size b) if games are snowballing faster, team ahead at 20 mins more likely to both get Atakhan and win, as less comeback potential Now I have examples I should be able to get this into the iTero dataset and confirm with real statistics tomorrow

This long-form video by @GX_League on why win rates aren't anywhere near as important as the community thinks is a banger it's also exactly why i built iTero youtube.com/watch?v=rSZTi9…

@samhine Cool site! One minor pet peeve is that Elo isn't an acronym, it's a guy's name

this was mostly just to flex my frontend muscles (and get used to next.js, since I've only used base react so far). this is actually my first time making a user facing application based on the riot API likely to be some teething issues still, but happy with how it turned out
