I was always angry, and I had a huge hole in my heart. Nothing made me happy. Then I got married to a God-fearing woman, and at home she would read the Bible every morning. After a while she said, "do you want me to read aloud to you?" So I sat down, and she started reading the Bible aloud to me, every morning. Eventually I said, "Well, let me read it," and so I started to read it aloud to her. And then it was like the Lord said to me "Chuck, it's time to come home. It's been long enough." And now my heart is filled up again.'

@willcain Exactly. Everyone is framing this as free speech what-aboutisms but execs care most about their bottom line. Late night ratings are tanking and execs are probably itching for a reason to cut losses.

Such ignorant hyperventilating about Jimmy Kimmel. This has nothing to do with “free press”’or the First Amendment.
Kimmel didn’t “joke” about Charlie Kirk. He spread a verifiable lie about half of America. In response:
- Huge numbers of consumers were appalled.
- Two large station owners, Nexstar and Sinclair, said no more. Not in our markets.
- His ratings already were in the toilet.
- I’m sure, like Colbert, he loses money for ABC.
- The FCC, which licenses and regulates public airwaves, rightly looks into whether this serves the “public interest”.
- ABC, with The View, a supposed comedy program in Kimmel that not only ignores but denigrates half of America, platforms only the Left, and the disgrace of its “news” division, fails the “public interest”.
- I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised, if some semi-sane exec at Disney said “enough of this bullshit”.
Jimmy Kimmel is free to speak his mind. He has no right or guarantee to do so on ABC. This isn’t about “comedy”nor free speech…this is about consequences.

Yeah. Charlie Kirk did say, "I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."
Here's the full quote:
“Yeah, it's a great question. Thank you. So, I'm a big Second Amendment fan but I think most politicians are cowards when it comes to defending why we have a Second Amendment. This is why I would not be a good politician, or maybe I would, I don't know, because I actually speak my mind.
The Second Amendment is not about hunting. I love hunting. The Second Amendment is not even about personal defense. That is important. The Second Amendment is there, God forbid, so that you can defend yourself against a tyrannical government. And if that talk scares you — "wow, that's radical, Charlie, I don't know about that" — well then, you have not really read any of the literature of our Founding Fathers. Number two, you've not read any 20th-century history. You're just living in Narnia. By the way, if you're actually living in Narnia, you would be wiser than wherever you're living, because C.S. Lewis was really smart. So I don't know what alternative universe you're living in. You just don't want to face reality that governments tend to get tyrannical and that if people need an ability to protect themselves and their communities and their families.
Now, we must also be real. We must be honest with the population. Having an armed citizenry comes with a price, and that is part of liberty. Driving comes with a price. 50,000, 50,000, 50,000 people die on the road every year. That's a price. You get rid of driving, you'd have 50,000 less auto fatalities. But we have decided that the benefit of driving — speed, accessibility, mobility, having products, services — is worth the cost of 50,000 people dying on the road. So we need to be very clear that you're not going to get gun deaths to zero. It will not happen. You could significantly reduce them through having more fathers in the home, by having more armed guards in front of schools. We should have a honest and clear reductionist view of gun violence, but we should not have a utopian one.
You will never live in a society when you have an armed citizenry and you won't have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It's drivel. But I am, I, I — I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational. Nobody talks like this. They live in a complete alternate universe.
So then, how do you reduce? Very simple. People say, oh, Charlie, how do you stop school shootings? I don't know. How did we stop shootings at baseball games? Because we have armed guards outside of baseball games. That's why. How did we stop all the shootings at airports? We have armed guards outside of airports. How do we stop all the shootings at banks? We have armed guards outside of banks. How did we stop all the shootings at gun shows? Notice there's not a lot of mass shootings at gun shows, there's all these guns. Because everyone's armed. If our money and our sporting events and our airplanes have armed guards, why don't our children?”

@RealJamesWoods It was tolerate, then accept, then celebrate. In this case their ideals are garbage in practice so they resort to ad hominem, then cancel, then assassinate... What's next?
English

When the Democrats ran out of options - the ballot harvesting, the mail-in ballot fraud, the lawfare, the phony impeachments, and the illegal invasion of our borders - assassination became their last resort. Of course, they wouldn’t do it themselves, but smugly stood by as their “useful idiots” did it for them. They missed President Trump by inches. Steve Scalise barely survived.
Charlie Kirk was not murdered as a vocal conservative citizen, but was assassinated as a potential future President of the United States. His death was a coup, a preemptive insurrection, and yes, treason.

Correcting a Common Misreading of the Bible:
When people hear the words of Jesus saying turn the other cheek they often think He is commanding surrender. They imagine that Jesus calls us to retreat or to let others walk over us. But this is not what He meant
In the world of the first century a slap on the right cheek was not about injury but about public insult. It was a way of treating someone as less than human, humiliating or challenging them
By telling His followers to turn the other cheek Jesus was not telling them to accept humiliation in silence. He was teaching them to stand their ground in a way that refused violence yet also refused surrender.
He commands us to stand our ground
Think about it. If you strike me on the right cheek with your right hand you must do so as a backhanded slap. That was the gesture of a master to a servant. To turn the other cheek forces the aggressor into a choice. They must either strike with the open hand which acknowledges equality or they must stop. In this way the victim has exposed the injustice without becoming violent, and standing their ground
Jesus is not teaching weakness. He is teaching a higher strength. To turn the other cheek is not to bow down in fear but to rise up in dignity. It is a holy act of resistance. It refuses to mirror hatred yet it refuses to give ground to evil. It shows the world that the children of God will not be defined by insults
Meekness does not mean weakness
So when you hear those words do not picture surrender. Picture courage. Picture a man or woman who will not be broken by the cruelty of others. Picture the strength of Christ who on the cross refused to curse His enemies and yet triumphed over them all
Never surrender
Never submit
This is the way of the Kingdom. Not weak submission but holy defiance. Not revenge but victory through courage and resilience in the face of adversity
