1) comics (not limited to manhwa but including manga, manhua) get popular because the work is good, the story and art are good. it is definitely NOT thanks to piracy websites. stop acting like you guys saved the authors’ lives and take credit for the time and effort they spent on their comic. none of the authors have asked for their pay-to-read comics to be put on piracy websites.
2) it is NOT TRUE that you need to be a korean resident to join official korean comic platforms. please don’t spread false news. we are always able to access and purchase on ridi, bomtoon, lezhin korea, mrblue, naver etc. as foreigners. just look at how much i managed to buy over the past few years…
if there’s a korean webtoon you want to read but there’s no official translation, you can definitely sign up for a free account and take advantage of various FREE methods to read on the platform such as daily check-in free coin zones and wait-until-free. there are many tutorials for setting up machine translation to read comics on your phone too…

Be prepared for a Manwha/Webtoon drought💀 New Korean Law to Crackdown on Piracy will directly effect the supply of raw files needed for translation. >The law allows the Korean govt to shut down pirate websites w/o a court order >The Korean govt has established a task force with various media companies to shut down these websites >The largest Korean based pirating website (Known by longtime pirates for their signature bunny watermark) has announced they are permanently shutting down and deleted all their data >A lot of translation groups relied on the aforementioned Korean pirate website for raws >Until something changes, expect translations for Korean titles to be delayed
