The early morning storms over Tirupathi has survived and nearing Tamil Nadu border near Tada. Can it reach Chennai ?
=================
Storm cluster near Tirupati has held together longer than expected
Now approaching Tada. Movement: slow + slightly southward drift
Intensification: happening due to early morning instability + residual moisture. For Chennai, here’s the realistic breakdown:
✅ Factors in favor
----------
System has already survived beyond sunrise (big positive)
Moisture feed still decent
Some sea-breeze interaction possible later
Outflow boundaries may trigger new cells ahead
❌ Limiting factors
-------------
Time running out as daytime heating usually weakens inland systems
Core is still north of ideal track
Needs regeneration rather than direct travel
Delta Districts got widespread thunderstorms early morning. After long time they got rains.

Dr. Atul Kapur@Kapur_AK
@SikoMpumi @DoctorLemma Gauge was broken. Still allowed to fly, but needed to rely on the calculations. There's an episode of "Mayday" on this event. Seeing it made clear the pilots' extraordinary skills. And seeing the plane crabbing made me realize a bit of what that must felt like for the passengers
QME

43 years ago, at 41,000 feet in the air, a brand new passenger plane carrying 69 people went completely silent.
Both engines died at the exact same time. The massive jet had just run out of fuel mid-flight.
The reason was a simple math mistake caused by a confusing transition. Canada was right in the middle of switching to the metric system. This specific plane was the very first one in the airline's fleet to use kilograms. The ground crew was still used to the old system. They calculated the fuel weight in pounds. The plane took off with less than half the fuel it needed to make the trip.
What happened next should not have been survivable.
The captain happened to fly small, unpowered gliders as a hobby. He had to do something no one had ever done with a commercial jet. He flew the heavy, powerless plane like a giant paper airplane toward an old abandoned military runway his co-pilot remembered.
Neither of them knew the old base had been turned into a public car track.
Neither of them knew there was a family racing event happening right on the asphalt that afternoon. Go-karts, cars, and kids on bicycles were directly in their path.
The plane came down completely silently. There was no loud engine noise to warn the people below.
The pilot forced the plane to drop out of the sky sideways just to slow it down. He came in fast. The front wheels collapsed when they hit the runway. The nose of the plane scraped across the concrete, throwing sparks everywhere until the huge jet skidded to a halt. The back end was sticking three stories up in the air.
Nobody on the ground was hit. Every single one of the 69 people on board walked away.
When airlines later put other pilots in simulators to try and copy the landing, every single one of them crashed.
The plane was repaired and flew for another 25 years.

@labstamil Throw a stone in mud and this is what we get. I apologise for posting and triggering this back and forth. The Hindu hatred is staggering. He can't rise above using filthy language.

Used to be a passionate supporter of this entity until very recently, but something feels off now.
After seeing how its leadership is clueless, after seeing how its most proactive and strong contributors are sidelined to accommodate super seniors who simply refuse to let go of their position despite decades of opportunities, a change of heart is inevitable.
What’s harder to ignore is how the emotions of this entity's most valuable asset was disrespected often, and despite his singlehanded superlative performance, he was let go of.
Due to their stellar past performances, many think of the central command as invincible Chanakyas who are playing 4D chess. But so much has changed in the past few years, and a refusal to adapt to the times, refusal to pick horses for courses, refusal to adopt different strategies for different locations shows lack of regional awareness.
To be fair, there are still glimpses of promise. A few capable individuals are finally getting their opportunities. For their sake, one continues to watch and support the entity. But perhaps with less attachment now. More as an observer than a believer.
Hope that the best teams with best players and strategies win. I'm sure in a couple of years, with a new set of players by 2029 under a new leadership, this entity will be back to form.
Talking about CSK. Not responsible for anything else that crossed your mind as you were reading the post. Detailed explanation in comments 😃

You don't even understand English. Reality: there is a Sanskrit College in Chennai, hundreds of Veda patashalas where Sanskrit is the medium of instruction not only in TN but other states too. Entire village in kar speaks Sanskrit.

You show me one single primary source of His Holiness ever saying that and then I will answer. If you believe in random Dstock accusations, not our problem.
North temples don't conduct pooja in Hindi, Andhra temples don't conduct pooja in Telugu, just as Muzlims don't conduct worship in Tamil. Worship language is rooted in respective scriptures. Have you seen a single Azhwar or Nayanmar diss Sanskrit like you guys are doing today? Why are you outraging on their behalf?
The Vedic mantras pre-date Sanskrit as a language itself, and their sounds are more important than their (later Sanskrit) meanings.

A 19-year-old drops out of school in Paris, teaches himself to code on an Apple II, builds X-rated chat rooms, and makes his first million before he can legally drink.
Then he hacks the French president's phone. To prove a point about weak security. He gets arrested. Spends a month in jail.
Most people's story ends there. His starts.
He founds Iliad in 1999 and launches a telecom brand called Free. The name is the strategy. He prices unlimited mobile at €19.99/month when every French carrier was charging €45+. The entire industry collapses into a price war overnight. French consumers save an estimated €10 billion over the next five years. Three legacy carriers post the worst quarterly results in their history.
Today Iliad has 52 million subscribers across France, Italy, and Poland. €10 billion in annual revenue. €2.25 billion in operating free cash flow last year, up 23% year over year. Niel took it private because he got tired of quarterly earnings calls constraining his ability to start wars in new markets.
While building a telecom empire, he also bought Le Monde (France's paper of record), co-owns the rights to "My Way" by Sinatra, founded 42 (a tuition-free coding school with zero teachers that accepts anyone regardless of credentials), built Station F (the world's largest startup campus in a converted Paris freight depot), seed-funded Mistral AI, invested €100 million in Kyutai alongside Eric Schmidt, and bought a Parisian palace from a Qatari prince for $227 million.
His partner is Delphine Arnault. The CEO of Dior. The daughter of Bernard Arnault, the richest person in Europe. He sits on the board of KKR.
Yesterday he launched Free Max. Unlimited 5G data in 135+ countries for €19.99/month. Same playbook he's been running for 25 years: walk into a market where carriers charge $15/day for roaming, price it at 66 cents, and watch every competitor scramble.
Xavier Niel is worth $14.2 billion and the only CEO in telecom who responds to customer death threats by showing up to the parking lot.
Florian Darroman@floriandarroman
This guy is our French Elon Musk (even cooler than Elon, I would say) He just released a new mobile service that covers all of these red countries (doesn't mean they're communists) with unlimited data for €19.90/mo. Now I can just use my French number in Indonesia 🫶
