Lagos already has everything required to become Africa’s leading tourism destination. The coastline, the culture, the history, the energy, and the people. What has been missing is the vision and commitment to build the infrastructure that unlocks its full potential. From Isla Noir at Tarkwa Bay to the Prime Meridian Aquatic and Golf Resort, my focus has been clear. Creating destinations that drive tourism, stimulate economic activity, create jobs, and position Lagos as a global hub for investment and leisure. This is not just about development. It is about building an economy that works for communities and creates long-term opportunities for our people. In this episode of #AskSMA, I share my vision for tourism in Lagos and why strategic investment in this sector can transform the future of our state. Watch, share, and stay engaged. #AskSMA #SMAGold #SamuelMawuyonAjose #LovingLagosForward #Lagos2027

Femi Gbajabiamila: A Specimen of Loyalty, Gentility, and Competency Let us start by saying that we have both worked in the Presidency twice, and it is our informed opinion that hardly any Chief of Staff to the President has been as effective as Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila. From our experience and vantage points, what does effectiveness as a Chief of Staff to a President look like? The answer is that it involves managing the day-to-day affairs around the President and facilitating the executive function of the Commander-in-Chief, so that the Principal can focus on leadership rather than management. And over the last three years, this has been done brilliantly. Which, perhaps, explains why President Bola Tinubu publicly expressed his confidence in his Chief of Staff. Gbajabiamila has used access to process progress for the President, his party, and the nation. It is why multiple Governors from various parties, different geopolitical zones, and diverse cultural backgrounds have publicly testified to the efficacy and impact of the Chief of Staff. Let's take some samples: The Delta State Governor, the Right Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori, himself a former Speaker, like Mr Gbajabiamila, described the CoS as a "seasoned administrator." The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, depicted the Chief of Staff to the President as a "patriot" who brought 'immense legal and political acumen to the Presidency.' While the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, a member of the opposition, portrayed him as an "exceptional administrator". In terms of organisational prowess, he is at a near-genius level. And this may have to do with his experience as Speaker of the House of Representatives for four years. And his impeccable people skills are why 2019-2023 was the most rancour-free period in the House of Representatives, and why 2023 to date is the ONLY period in Nigeria's Fourth Republic without Executive/Legislative tension. His ability to look beyond his own interests to project, protect, reflect and advance the President's interests is commendably legendary. Even with his busy schedule, he has still found time to use his social media presence and relationship network to highlight the positive work the Tinubu administration has done. Not done. Has done. That is a first for a Chief of Staff in this clime. And if you have ever studied media and communications professionally, as I have, you will know that effective branding involves projecting positive things that are already happening. A government is most complimented when it displays what has been implemented, not what is being contemplated. He is a Muslim, and a practising and quite pious Mu'min. Yet, on Easter 2026, he, together with his family, came together for Easter Lunch, putting to shame those who said the Muslim-Muslim ticket of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima was for the purpose of Islamising Nigeria! And that is why it pains me that anyone would try to use mischief to bring down this chief. And this is why we say that our support for him is solid. Those who know, know that Nigeria is better because of your service to the Commander-in-Chief. Carry on the good job. Be encouraged. Your presence in the present is excellent, and you are very much appreciated. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Ambassador Designate to South Africa, Mr. Bemigho Reno Omokri, Ambassador-Designate to Mexico.

Some stories were never meant to disappear. From the brutal realities of the transatlantic slave trade to generations of neglect and marginalisation, Badagry carries a history too significant to remain in the shadows. Echoes of Forgotten Chains is not just a documentary. It is a powerful reflection on memory, identity, history, and the enduring impact of a past that still echoes into the present. Through this project, Dr Samuel Mawuyon Ajose brings renewed attention to a story that deserves to be seen, understood, and remembered. The teaser is now out. Watch it. Share it. And tell us, what does Badagry’s story mean to you? #EchoesOfForgottenChains #Badagry #SamuelMawuyonAjose #NigerianHistory #Documentary

Today in Abuja, I successfully concluded the APC governorship screening exercise and have been officially cleared to participate in the Lagos State governorship primaries scheduled for 21st May, 2026. I was honoured to be accompanied by traditional rulers, religious leaders, political stakeholders, and opinion leaders from Badagry Division, whose presence reflected the growing belief and support for this journey across our communities. As the process continues, I remain focused, encouraged, and deeply connected to the grassroots. #SamuelMawuyonAjose #SMAGold #Lagos2027 #badagrylokan

Therefore, we make bold to state that our candidate and choice for the 2027 Presidential Elections is His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, who has, in the last three years, delivered 12 cycles of GDP growth and trade surpluses, while adding $67 billion to our economy and making Nigeria the sixth largest contributor to global GDP growth in 2025.
Reno Omokri@renoomokri

Our Candidate For 2027 is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In view of recent political events, it has become necessary and expedient for us, Ambassadors Designate Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and Mr. Bemigho Reno Omokri, to state categorically that we believe it is in the best interest of the stability, unity, and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and in keeping with the Gentleman's Agreement, which ushered in our Fourth Republic in 1999, after sixteen years of turbulence and political instability, for there to be a balanced and orderly rotation of power in Nigeria, between the North and the South. We further affirm that, having completed and made full and unfettered use of two terms of four years, under the Muhammadu Buhari administration, Northern Nigeria, with the support of patriots from Southern Nigeria, had its full, uninterrupted, and undisturbed tenure in this power rotation arrangement. And that, after that tenure, it is the turn of Southern Nigeria to take and retain the baton of power for a commensurate period of time, to wit, two terms of four years each. As such, we view it as unpatriotic and inimical to the unity, equilibrium, and progress of Nigeria for anyone to even conceive of power returning to Northern Nigeria after only one term of four years, during which it was domiciled in Southern Nigeria. And not just in Southern Nigeria, but in the specific hands of the man who was the chief architect for the return of power to the North in 2015. We are of the opinion that one good turn deserves another and that one good term deserves another. We urge the political class, to note that the reason Switzerland has been stable, peaceful, and prosperous for the last 211 years is because that Alpine nation wisely introduced power sharing amongst its multiethnic population and has not seen any conflict since 1815, and particularly since 1848 when its power-sharing policy took root. Finally, we call on all Nigerians, irrespective of region, religion, and communion, to join us and queue behind the present Presidency and future candidacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, which has seen infrastructural efforts to unite Nigeria, including the ₦15 trillion 750-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the ₦13 trillion 1068-kilometre Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, and bridging the gap between the Southeast and the entire North through the 465-kilometre Trans-Saharan Road being constructed at a cost of an estimated $750 million. If we all extend the right hand of fellowship to President Bola Tinubu, we will, with the help of God, collectively see Nigeria become a $1 trillion economy by 2031. To re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a task that must be done! May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and may Nigeria prosper under President Bola Tinubu. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Ambassador Designate to South Africa, Mr. Bemigho Reno Omokri, Ambassador-Designate to Mexico.
