Deadpool presentssss… Arena Grande! A totally serious, absolutely normal celebration of April POOL's Day. Queue up, cause chaos, and enjoy the nonsense while it lasts.

Reacher is a wonderful TV show that asks its audience to ponder how many situations they can think of in which a bunch of skinny dumb fucks think they can beat up what appears to be the human personification of the Ford F-350 SuperDuty

@zdch I used to be a lot more pro-legalization on everything, but esp weed. Everyone used to say ‘do you know what the LD50 is on Marijauna?’ Then once it was legal suddenly that seems to have been taken as a challenge. Nobody was thinking 1000 mg edibles 20 years ago.

This was my last week at Second Dinner. I loved working on Marvel Snap, and learned so much! Thank you to my peers and our players. Next week, I’ll join Fanatics Collectibles as Sr. Director of Game Design. I’m excited to meet more of the team and start building some games!

@zdch @hamandcheese Porn was viewed at 60 seconds per frame instead of 60 frames per second, but a similar level of unhinged chatters

@hamandcheese I was fixing to say: people who think the AOL days were, uh, safe for kids need to learn a thing or two about how said kids were using the internet.

The very notion of "kids online safety" has always confused me. I've been online since 1999. The internet has only gotten "safer" since, given the rise of big platform, content moderation, security features, etc. If anything the internet is *too* safe now.

There could be a few dozen GDC talks with the core takeaway : try to release your game 2 months before a global pandemic.

@jfwong The real inflection point is when people realize that you are not limited by trying to mimic traditional filmmaking. Leaning into hallucinations or the fact you can do things that would be physically impossible or cost prohibitive traditionally. The discovery phase will be cool.

@samstod yeah- i think we’re about maybe a year out from where people genuinely won’t be able to tell the difference unless they really look into it, and we’re going to see an absolute explosion of content across various mediums.

@jfwong Oh for sure, but we're also going to see really cool stuff from small independent filmmakers. The same way that digital cameras, then iPhones, dramatically increased the number of people who could film their own movies, this has the opportunity to do that w/ more epic stories

@samstod Every major studio is already testing pipelines to integrate it- there’s a lot of efficiency to be created here when it comes to backdrops, large crowd scenes, rotoscoping, etc

@Chosler @jfwong I don't even think it's stuff like "agi around the corner!" that matters right now, AI is going to totally transform the entire knowledge economy in a way that is very hard to grasp. We are getting very close to at least the level of "her."

@Chosler @jfwong I suspect you have not actually seen how much stuff like Claude Code or the agentic stuff has advanced in the last few months. The newer models + tools are dramatically more impressive than than what most people could've imagined even a year ago.

I have been feeling this coming on for a while now, but this puts it pretty clearly for those who aren’t quite as caught up on the fast advancement of AI and how it’s going to impact people’s jobs.

@Noahpinion I have no doubt that the majority of people fighting for this have the best of intentions, but bureaucracy destoys all good intentions. The second it becomes a defacto treatments option for expensive alternatives, systems will figure out how to push it on people.

@Noahpinion Once you add a tool into the tool belt of a bureaucracy, you can’t be surprised when it gets used. If you are struggling with chronic health issues or mental health, and see assisted dying literature / are given it as an option time and time again….a lot of people will use it

I got some Buldak Ramen, and my wife asked how it was. "Good." I said, fanning my mouth, "But I wish it was like 30% less hot." She asked me why I just didn't use less of the sauce packet. Hand to god, I had never even considered it. Never even entered my mind.
