@acaguy I’ve considered doing this, but I worry if I institute a blanket ban, but then a student is allowed a laptop per their accommodations, my policy either outs that student or pressures them into not using their accommodations. I’m not sure how to work around that.

Tried a no tech policy (with some possible exceptions) this semester. 85% of students preferred it. A large chunk of those students expected to hate it and ended up preferring it.

The best part about dressing up like assistant coach Jerry Sloan helping to lead the @utahjazz to a 124-123 road victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on March 6, 1987 is that my students aren't sure if it's a costume or just...me. And they don't want to ask for fear of offending me.

@samueljamesdunn @utahjazz Be careful, or @dieworkwear will come for your buttons, tie knot (+ an undone collar?), too-casual pants that lack Sloan's original, pleated flair (and probably miss in one direction or the other on the warmth/coolness scale). Heaven forbid he notices a collar gap. Great costume.

During a true tank, the fans are supposed to rally behind the potential of the future and become sickos for the youngsters that could eventually pop, the diamonds in the rough. You root for the losses, you pay attention to development more. It's kind of a beautiful thing.
