@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama I think the resources for the expressway should be put into this railway project instead. High-speed transport from Kumasi and beyond to Accra Central in 2hrs paaa. No one would spend thousands on rent in Accra.

@unitedmaestro @JDMahama Yes - emphases on good strategic roads not just roads. I realized most roads are just constructed with no fly overs and interchanges and strategically at very serious points, rest stops ? maintained safety features

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama Havr you factored in the volumes?Good road infrastructure is suppose to be the backbone and rail supporting especially with transportation of cargo to protect existing road network.Estimated traffic a day Accra to Kumasi is 10k to 25k vehicles(60 per cent linking to the North)..

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama ...so you can see the huge cost investment which we eventually have to do.Rail is far from a simplistic solution. However Ghana has a roadmap which has been poorly implemented. We cannot cure 60 years of lack of investment in rail in short term.We need to give ourselves 15-30yrs.

@unitedmaestro @JDMahama Yes so strategically even if the rails were transferring goods it’s going to reduce all these truck crash incidents on our roads

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama Urban rail would be more challenging (past gov conceded sky train but botched it).The colonial powers developed rail to transport our resourses like bauxite etc to ports like Tema for export. They never intended to build passenger rail and it is time to start but realistically.

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama What I think is a realistic approach is: 1) Link Tema to Boankra inland port by rail to transfer lots of freight load on rail 2) Create a rail corridor for future works and protect it because cost of compensation etc is another issue 3)Link Kasoa to Takoradi via rail (passenger)

If you’re close to me, you’ll know everything about me revolves around road safety. Whether I’m angry, frustrated, emotional,it all comes back to road safety. I truly believe it’s my calling, and behind the sceneswe’re putting in a lot of work to help reduce road crash incidents.

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama It is no more an idea that can be halt. Funds has been spent and far in the process. Halting is another form of cost which be a double or triple increment of the actual.

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama I see this too often on the Accra-Tema Motorway. Why can’t we develop an alternate route for freight from our ports?

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama There is an Akan proverb that says, 'When you have many farms, you don’t abandon any.' Moreover, an expressway is cheaper per kilometer. Based on these facts, building a new expressway together with the dualization of the current one is the way to go for now.

@msdende @JDMahama Visionary and long term Infrastructures is what separates developed nations from the rest. It’s not magic nor rocket science. My passion for road safety gets me emotional anytime road crash incidents occur. It could be you , myself or just anyone 🥹🤦🏾‍♂️

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama Finally someone speaking sense! Our roads are death traps while railways rot away. Visionary infrastructure is what separates developed nations from the rest. 🚆

@samuelwhyteF @JDMahama The economic case for rail is overwhelming. Moving goods by train is efficient and reduces infrastructure strain. Let's build something that serves generations, not elections!
