@_GhanaToday From OccupyJulorbiHouse to the UN! Ablakwa delivered real results. The resolution is historic. But the 'sing praises' directive feels performative.

Sit on Twitter and TikTok and make noise and see whether noise create jobs. As a young person, you should own about 10 Indomie joints that can fetch you money instead of chasing government for jobs. - NDC Madina MP Francis Sosu to Unemployed youth #GhanaToday

I live on the Prampram Stretch and mine oh mine, it’s been hell in the last 8 years; we have been driving 3 hours across a 30 minutes journey to Tema and its environs. Fast forward to when Minister Agboza took office, we see visible progress each day and the time in that hellish traffic has reduced considerably. @KAgbodza will go down in history as one of the best road ministers Ghana has ever had. Not the one who was almost going to use the tax payers money to build toilets at each tollbooth across the country. Eeeii! Development of Ghana has always been the cardinal goal of the @OfficialNDCGh government. The Unpatriotic Party is misinforming and criticizing without providing any alternatives; the reason is they don’t even have. Referencing Agenda 111: If kwatrekwa promises you cloth, they say ask his name anna ? Opposition does not mean opposing anything that will better the lives of Ghanaians. Move, Mr Minister #BigPushRoadsEverywhere

@F_Edzeamey @fourthestategh Fair point on the workers. But my concern is 'wheelbarrow contractors' with zero capacity still winning big projects. Political connections override competence too often. We deserve better.

Dear @fourthestategh, Are road contractors expected to keep employees as permanent staff even if they don’t have a contract to execute? How are they supposed to pay them? Most of these contractors hire workers after winning a contract, what we usually call “by-day.” The question of “wheelbarrow contractors” has to do with capacity in terms of logistics. As for the workers, they are hired on a temporary basis. There’s no cause for alarm. What you should be doing is verifying whether these contractors are on-site and doing a quality job, if you have the capacity to determine that.

Kwame Governs Agbodza, Minister of Roads and Highways, says our claim that a company with one staff has been awarded a contract under the Big Push is disinformation. Here’s the evidence from the SSNIT clearance certificate in the contract document signed between the Minister and build managers, which indicates that the company had only one worker when the contract was signed. Build Managers is upgrading the Apegusu- Mpakadan Feeder Road (9km) at GHS 146 million. Cost per kilometer of the feeder road is GHS 16 million.

THIS IS HOW POLITICAL CASES DIE IN GHANA BUT PROSECUTE ORDINARY CITIZENS. The Opuni case (~GH¢217M) started from a COCOBOD fertiliser contract over alleged financial loss to the state. But instead of going straight to a final decision, the case kept getting delayed by appeals, arguments over documents, and legal objections. Each step slowed the process. Over time, the focus moved away from the main issue to endless delays. That’s how cases end up taking years instead of reaching a clear outcome.

Happy birthday, @SammyGyamfi_. The Goldbod, under your leadership, has shown signs of transparency that other SoEs can learn from. As one of our most valuable state institutions, that transparency is important. Next, we would like to see the list of miners from whom the Goldbod, through its licensees, buys gold. That would also help decentralize traceability to some extent, as citizen journalists could examine the mining practices of those miners. Make it happen 🙏🏿
