Would it be too much to ask that SOME areas of grass are kept long throughout the summer @hertscc? I and many others appreciate that not all areas can be left, & sight lines at junctions are understandable etc, but areas that aren’t used for recreational sports, don’t cause any obstructions & don’t pose any safety risks for vehicles, would be a good place to start. Why not set yourselves apart this spring/summer and set a precedent in terms of a council that is managing its green spaces for wildlife. It will benefit local wildlife, cost you less in maintenance and look better when there’s more wildflowers flowering. Are you in? Happy to offer advice as to how you can achieve this. I’d rather work with councils than sit back and point the finger. Feel free to DM me 👍

Oh JFC. Just stop with the stone stacking please! It causes damage in a number of ways: google.co.uk/search?q=stone… I know I'm probably preaching to the choir here but it bears repeating. Whatever happened to leave no trace? #MondayRant #PeakDistrict

Did you know that school district staff and boards refuse to test the artificial turf they are buying because they think it’s not their job or the landscape architect says it’s PFAS free without proof? @AGRobBonta @RobertBilott @SHPFC @FieldExperts nbcsandiego.com/news/local/che…

Our environmental hit squads are working across South Lanarkshire clearing footpaths, cutting back hedges, weeding, cleaning high-footfall pavements and street furniture, and undertaking other environmental improvement works thanks to the council’s 3-yr £3.5m Frontline First Fund

New analysis by @leotrasande shows how expensive our addiction to plastics really is when we consider the costs to health. Costs to the environment are ON TOP OF these costs. This just can't continue. (And these calculations are incredibly conservative.) @TheEndoSociety
