British Indians Voice 🇮🇳🇬🇧
I need to be honest with you today. The hate on my last post (2K comments)👇 shook me. The hate on my grandfather’s story was designed to do one thing. Silence me. That’s the part that broke my heart. A community that followed every rule. Paid every tax. Built businesses from nothing. Staffed hospitals. Still scared to speak. Still reading hate at midnight. Still asking What more did we have to do? What more does any of us have to do? I don’t have an answer tonight. I just have this post. They can send hate. We will send truth. And the hope that someone reading it feels a little less alone💔🇮🇳🇬🇧 Follow @BritIndianVoice if this speaks to you. #BritishIndians
British Indians Voice 🇮🇳🇬🇧@BritIndianVoice

My grandfather came to Britain in 1965. He didn’t speak much English. He worked night shifts in a factory in Birmingham. He paid his taxes. Kept his head down. Never complained. His son became a doctor. His granddaughter is a tech engineer. His great-grandchildren were born British. Three generations. Zero crime. Zero benefits fraud. Zero debt to this country. And still, STILL someone tells us to go home. Where exactly is home supposed to be? 🇮🇳🇬🇧 #BritishIndians

If you’re going to accuse me or anyone else who supports #Palestine of #antisemitism then consider this: I’ll be voting for the Jewish guy, not the guy who made jokes about gas chambers. How about you?

Peter does not live on the minimum wage. He relies on Universal Credit to top up his workers’ wages to a survivable level so he is nicely off. We pay for people like Peter to run businesses while paying starvation wages.
Peter McCormack 🏴‍☠️🇬🇧🇮🇪@PeterMcCormack

A minimum wage of £15 would end my coffee shop, it would have to close, as would many other businesses. I’ll explain for the economically illiterate. Staff costs are currently half our costs, a £15 minimum wage is actually more than £15 an hour for the company, because you have to add: - 12.07% holiday - Sick pay - Maternity pay if and when required - National insurance - Pension contributions These costs would mean the shop loses money because remember, energy costs are up, rates are up, regulations are up. Now you can pass these costs onto the consumer - that would mean charging a lot more for coffee, people won’t pay it. The likes of Starbucks and Costa can, because they have economies of scale. The independent doesn’t. Now the little socialist will say well this is your fault, if you can’t run a business that can afford to pay its staff properly, but the little socialist has never run a business and does not understand the dynamics. Now I could pay some staff off and fill those hours myself or reduce us to one staff member during certain periods - but this proves the point that a minimum wage costs jobs. There was a time when these jobs were done by kids, perhaps on the weekend, paid a lower wage, no holiday and no silly employment rights. Perhaps they were even paid cash. The dynamic worked and small businesses like this could operate. It was also a great first job. Sadly now it isn’t worth employing entitlement youngsters at this level of pay. So alas, I don’t need the stress, the business would close, a number of jobs would be lost. Economics is about understanding these dynamics, no vibes. The cost of living is not solved through passing on inflation to the business, it is solved by ending high inflation and creating prosperity. This is what socialists don’t understand, they can’t create prosperity, they can only destroy it.

The UK government must ACT NOW and: • Condemn the Israeli Navy’s illegal actions against the Flotilla • Demand the safety and release of all British Citizens involved in this mission • Stop all arms exports to Israel immediately • Do everything in its power to end this ongoing genocide

Really proud of @rachelmillward clarity on Question Time. This moment requires politicians to bring communities together. "We need to end the divisive language of setting one community against each other - and bring people together." #BBCQT

@narindertweets Narinder, you've almost written about yourself. Substitute working class with 'British people' and it's you you're describing.

Dear Allison You are literally everything what's wrong with society - Your snobbery and sneering of the working class is embarrassing as no one actually respects you. You have the integrity, class and morals of an alley cat and you have insulted working class women with your sneering of them. I was that girl who sat at the back wearing makeup and talking about who I fancied..taking aim at ‘working class girls’ like they’re the problem? They’re not- they’re the ones holding everything together while being judged for how they look, speak, and live. Angela Rayner is more woman, more loved, more respected than you ever will be. Quit picking on our Angela and take a look in the mirror

To be clear, it’s not Muslims VS Jews. It’s everybody VS Zionists. Your inability to separate the two is equally problematic.

The Mail doesn't think seem to think workers, of all ages, are worth £15 an hour. That's fair pay for a fair day's work, with money workers will put back into the economy. We are the party for workers. Vote Green on 7th May.

@PhilipProudfoot We all saw what happened, the only people who'd support the behaviour of those 2 would be far right and others with a violent tendancy towards certain people. It's time Rowley kept his rightwing beak out of politics too.

This will not stand up legally. Zack retweeted — did not issue a statement — a questioning of the seemingly excessive use of force. The head of the Met, during purdah, wrote a two page attack as if Zack had said it. It is clear involvement in politics.
Beth Rigby@BethRigby

Mark Rowley on @SkyNews re his open letter to @ZackPolanski. “I'm not getting involved in politics. I'm dealing with operations. I need my officers to have confidence to tackle the most difficult and dangerous individuals. Of course, there's always going to be sort of, sort of eccentricity and nonsense online. “But if an eminent person steps into operational policing and, sort of criticises officers in a way that can undermine their confidence to act, I need to support that…. He has stepped into operational policing with his criticism & inaccuracies & I need to put that straight”
