@faustocoppi60 Let's put it this way. He will win every mountain unless a breakaway wins a mountain. He's not as ruthless as UAE and Tadej but could win 7 or 8. My guess is 5. This is the worst GC line up in years. Not looking forward to the race at all.

@faustocoppi60 What stage races does Pogacar miss in his collection? feels like stage races compared to monuments are literally a training ride for him.

⏱️ Tadej Pogacar climbed Leysin (15,0 km@5,9%) in 32 min 46 sec, at 27.47 km/h average speed. As I expected, he was one minute faster than Contador in 2006. I don't have all the previous ascent times so can't tell if this is the climbing record but probably it is. #TDR2026

@Xinirnix @mou55981652 Who’s “them”? I know Pogačar is unreal, but he’s still one person… so “him” makes more sense.

I don't expect Seixas to win tomorrow. I expect Pog to kill both Remco and Seixas at Redoute and I'm pretty confident in that but if Seixas wins tomorrow and can keep up with Pog at Liege, then he has chance at Tour because he's much better in mountains compared to small hills

@coty9942 @mou55981652 I agree with you 100%. And tbf I can't see any scenario in which Seixas takes any time on Pog in the mountains, not even bonus seconds. But then again, people were saying the same in the Pog vs Jonas debate after 2023..

@mou55981652 Seixas never win tdf vs pog. He can be better on mountains, but pog takes time on hills. Seixas needs to attack, and pog follow and just outsprint him at the end or he is doing a move just like plateu de beille 24.. I think this hype is more the dethrone of vini as 2nd rider

TADEJ POGACAR (UAE TEAM EMIRATES XRG) WINS RONDE VAN VLAANDEREN for the 3rd time after another 18 km solo from Oude Kwaremont! 👏🇸🇮 The world's best rider cooked again Mathieu VDP who was again too generous/naive, he toyed with him and Remco. GRANDE POGI! #RVV26

Exactly what I expected. Pogacar didn't go full-gas so Wout, Mathieu and Remco were able to stay with him. But he's one level above all the others. #RVV26

@aanaakit @beks2024ia That might honestly be the worst take I’ve heard. Let’s just wait and see. There’s no world where the reigning world champion skips Worlds when he’s the clear top favorite. If he rides the Vuelta this year, it’ll be on top of Worlds (and Euros too)

@sandywd69 @beks2024ia Cyclists don’t think in terms of what they can win next season. A Vuelta win is worth more than a third Worlds and he knows young guys are coming and by the time he gets around to Spain he might not be the strongest anymore. As Slovenians say, strike the iron while it’s hot.

If tadej wins tdf and worlds this year - it’s three-peat tdf and three-peat worlds IN one year! And 5 monuments in one year!!!! I bet none has done that yet. Now, I just hopeeee he’s bubble wrapped and healthy throughout the year to tick these boxes!

@aanaakit @beks2024ia Why on earth would he throw away a likely third straight Worlds title for a Vuelta he can win basically any year he feels like it? 2026 and 2027 are the last Worlds with hilly parcours for a long time. There’s just no scenario where that trade makes sense. Zero chance

@laflammerouge16 @deancarter10 He can kind of just tick them off since they fit nicely into his schedule this year. Not saying he doesn’t care about them, just that they’re more of a convenient add-on than a real top priority compared to San Remo, Roubaix, the Tour, or Worlds.

@sandywd69 @deancarter10 Well he wanted to go to Down Under, ofc 5 monuments and 3 GTs have priority but he definitely wants to win the more different races he can.

@laflammerouge16 @deancarter10 Doesn't look like he cares about completing the "big 7" stage races all that much to me. If he does it, it will be because it conveniently fits in with how they plan his season around his main goals.

@deancarter10 I think he'll go back in Roubaix because is less random and more skill-based and he liked it. I don't think he'll go back in Sanremo.

UAE to lose Sivakov, Narváez and Vermeersch all in one transfer window? According to Daniel Benson, it’s far from unlikely. We know how L’Équipe reported that Pavel Sivakov already has a verbal agreement with Decathlon CMA CGM team, and that it is basically certain he will go there. Details like contract length are available on Benson’s page. But he may not be the only one heading out. Ineos, backed by their new Netcompany sponsorship (worth around €20 million per year) are trying to bring Jhonatan Narváez back, and there’s a real possibility he could leave Pogačar. Even more surprising for me is another potential transfer being talked there… Florian Vermeersch might potentially go to the team of Pogačar’s biggest rival. I don’t mean this as criticism cycling is a business, after all, but I just can’t get spending years getting close to your leader, to your boy, helping him winning against them, only to then line up against them in the service of their biggest competitor. But of course nothing is signed yet. Plus UAE will almost certainly lose another rider. For more details, I’d definitely recommend subscribing to @dnlbenson here: dnlbenson.substack.com/p/cycling-tran…

@sandywd69 @SixYeeee Should have written it better or added comma somewhere. For Giro I only meant Almeida. Del Toro is not planned for Giro and neither is Seixas indeed. Had in mind Tour when I was writing this.

@BasMeersma59856 @23Nello Pogačar, Del Toro, and maybe even Seixas, his main rivals - are absent, yes. But Remco?😴 He couldn’t follow Jonas in the mountains even with a motor on his bike, not even on the best day of his life😂

@23Nello ofcourse he will win no opposition in paris nice. the real opposition are in tireno. and the other 2 guys are resting. remco is training in spain and pogi is focussing on the ronde van vlaanderen and paris roubaix. you can see onley as opposition but he is not ready yet.
