The photo on the left is noramal Trackpoint caps I sell. However, today I received next two photos from a New Yorker. If anyone else has had caps purchased from me in this condition, please let me know. Especially if you bought one last spring.

I tried a 3D printed imitation of the classic TrackPoint. It's not bad, but I prefer a soft rim.

@logonfail After that, it was soaked in 4% salt water for two months, but there was no noticeable deterioration.

@logonfail After about a month of tap water immersion testing, no noticeable deterioration, softening, or hardening was observed.

A customer contacted me to say that my 3D printed TrackPoint cap deteriorated after a few months. Please let me know if you have had a similar experience. Mine lasts for over a year though.

The TrackPoint module SK8707-01-004 I purchased from HolyKeebs comes with a unique TrackPoint cap. It's 5.3mm high, but the stem is thin. From left to right in the photo: - SK8707-01-004 - Low Profile TrackPoint (5.5mm) - Super Low Profile (4mm) - 3mm TrackPoint - Ultra Low (2mm)

Tell me a feature, function component of any #ThinkPad that you found immensely useful and used a great deal. Until backlit keyboards (which I use regularly) the #ThinkLight was a massive help. #ThinkPadThursday
