@EDUwithEmily I completely agree! I conversed with the ones who were guilting the others and told them it is none of their concern. If we are given PTO days we should use them if we want. Why is it something to brag about that you have saved up 90 PTO days to retire and get paid for 60%.

@sap2pc This is part of my reasoning for saying this. You don’t need to explain your absence to your colleagues, the parents of your students, or your students.

I can’t believe I even have to say this… A TEACHER CAN TAKE THEIR PERSONAL DAYS WHENEVER THEY WANT AND THEY DON’T HAVE TO TELL YOU OR ANYONE ELSE WHY THEY ARE TAKING THEM.

@JamesAFurey Maybe when teachers are treated like professionals and paid a professionals wage we can demand they dress as professionals, I mean come on...do you know how much it costs to dress professionally vs a teachers salary?

As a teacher, dressing down to the level of your students is a good way to send the message that you're not to be respected as an adult. It's a profession. Dress like a professional.

@bennyjohnson The part that gets me the most is the fact that they use his senility as reasons why he can't be charged, but fight tooth and nail to say that he is not senile in public.....I mean which is it?

SO THE REASON TEACHERS ARE SO UNDERPAID IS BECAUSE 76% OF TEACHERS ARE WOMEN AND SOCIETY DOES NOT VALUE THE WORK OF WOMEN, WHICH IS ALSO WHY MANY MALE TEACHERS BECOME ADMIN. IRONICALLY, 76% OF SUPERINTENDENTS ARE MEN BECAUSE MEN MAKE UP THE MAJORITY OF ADMIN.
