@keith_campion @joharvey21 How can a teacher target their questioning if left to chance. They may as well close their eyes, point and spin until the class shouts stop. (2/2)

@keith_campion @joharvey21 You’re not. The lolly sticks add nothing just prompts the teacher to say a name. Do they put the stick back? If not the pupil can opt out knowing they won’t get selected again. (1/2)

Pulling lolly sticks from a pot and then asking who else can help them when the child starts to turn red with brain freeze due to suddenly being put on the spot, is surely a practice which humiliates our already less confident children?

Is it me being weak or are packets of most things now really hard to open? I couldn’t even manage my pack of lentil crisps the other day!

Would really love to talk to other curriculum leads about how they’ve adopted @kapowprimary in their schools.

@teachingrhythm @Miss_Grimmer That’s positive. It’ll be out soon. We were inspected third week of November and have seen the report, just waiting for it to go ‘live’

@Teacherglitter @HarlanCoben Totally agree! We are now making our way through more of Coben adaptations. Have watched the Stranger, Stay Close and now on to Safe. All on Netflix. Highly recommend!

Finally finished @HarlanCoben’s brilliant #FoolMeOnce and it is worth the hype. Brilliantly acted by the entire cast. Twists, turns & kept me guessing until the end. If you’ve not seen it yet, you are in for a treat. Stay away from any spoilers and enjoy it as it’s meant to be.

@PaulGarvey4 @Ofstednews Further evidence in my opinion that they’re not considering the impact they have on school leaders.

@PaulGarvey4 @Ofstednews I know a school that got their draft report today at 3:10. Whatever the outcome of an inspection, to send the report at that time doesn’t show any consideration of the well being of school leaders, it is the end of the day, before the weekend, couldn’t it wait till Monday?!

There will be **school leaders** who will be back in your schools before Christmas, wearing an @Ofstednews badge. If you are one of them, who is reading this… … How can you? PLEASE, NOW, STOP INSPECTING FOR OFSTED#
Paul Garvey.@PaulGarvey4

Can I be clear again that if you inspect & you work in a school, or Trust, you are part of the problem. @Ofstednews are toxic to schools & believe me, you **WILL NOT** change if from the inside; you are just perpetuating the problem. School leaders: STOP INSPECTING.

@PrimaryCoHead Fingers and toes crossed not! Ours was on my 20 weeks scan. Thankfully I could postpone (not like a birthday), but it highlights the unsaid pressure of ofsted. Everything just gets put on hold for those three days.

A HT pal of mine has Ofsted Weds/Thur. Wed is his little boys b’day. My little girls b’day is Jan. We’re the next school on the list. It’s going to happen to me. I know it. I’m not going to be able to not tell Ofsted when they come.

@Headteacherchat My colleague was given a jelly bean car air freshener. I was once given a single coaster, it’s lovely but weird to not come as a pair 😂

@RogersHistory I wholeheartedly agree with everything you’ve said, do get me wrong. But whilst there’s the ridiculous system in place then some community of schools need to share to change perception. I absolutely don’t think it’s right though.

20 or so leaders were told to share an OFSTED report on social media by another leader, the ones who were weren’t willing to ‘celebrate the achievement publicly’ were made to feel guilty for not sharing the success. Question: How much OFSTED report sharing is about celebrating children and how much is about self promotion? I would suggest in some cases it is most definitely only about the latter with the saviour narrative often featuring heavily.
